  • Could I have some examples of Obama's "Coded language" ?

[Read the article: Daily Kos writers' "strike" gets ugly]

Really, I would like to hear it. The only "example" I have heard was when Obama said that Hillary "periodically launches attacks"

So absurd were these accusations that they certainly revealed more about the tattlers than the tattled upon.

Clinton to win needs to win a percentage of delegates in the upcoming contests that is unattainable. She cannot win. As great as her "victories" on the day that Ohio and Texas voted, since that day, Obama has actually increased his delegate lead. Why can't Hillary realize she's done. It's over. Her only chance is to steal the thing using Bill's connections. All that she is doing is hurting the Dems in the general election.

The victimhood card played by Clinton and her supporters is so tired. My favorite poitical cartoon I've seen recently is the one in Rolling Stone where Hillary is nailing herself to a cross with her horrified lady followers looking on.

I could point out various ham-fisted attempts to make Obama look bad in this piece but I will focus on this:

It is stupid to suggest that Obama's stance on Iraq was easy and risk free as oppossed to Hillary's. Obama had ambitions to seek higher office. Illinois is less of a blue state than NY. By being reasonable while the majority of politicians were stupidly joining the chorus for war took wisdom and balls.

Robert Byrd of West Virginia opposed the war even though he is from a state much redder than NY. Hillary could have opposed the war and not suffered as a Senator. Maybe if she and her husband had spoke out forcefully against it, we could have avoided this human tragedy. It's painfully obvious that Hillary's presidential ambitions were her motivation for voting the war. She thought her hawkishness could serve as a rhetorical strap-on. Her actions were the epitome of selfishness and cowardice.

If Barack had been wrong about the war in 2002, it would have hurt his chances to be elected as a Senator in 2004. His position was a risky one for his political future in Washington. Illinois is a purple state. It is not a state that nearly automatically sends Democrats to the Senate like New York is now. On top of that, Hillary would not have been up for reelection for another four years. It was either her presidential ambitions that guided her, in which case she is a cravenly ambitious person. Or she thought the war was a good idea, in which case she is stupid. Or maybe it was both. Who knows? Who cares at this point? She would have to win PA by 90 points to have a chance to beat Obama anyway, so this is all academic.

  • Worst of all Time!

I am talking about the Chinese government. The Great Leap Forward, the Cultural Revolution, the slaughter and cultural genocide in Tibet, culpability in Darfur, aggression and threats toward the sovereign people of Taiwan, a government that can fairly be described as fascist...

It is a testament to human stupidity that most Chinese people believe that Mao was mostly good.

Oh, Chinese Girl, your post is priceless. I guess that that is what passes for discourse in China. Are all your countrymen completely susceptible to the Jedi mind trick? Do you think that it works as well on westerners? You might not realize this, but just because some official of this or that body says something does not necessarily make it so.

Hillary won't stop, consequences be damned! This is her nomination, Obama supporters! Your insolence will not go unpunished!

It has been crazy to watch the primary action lately. Everyone painted Texas and Ohio as these watershed Clinton victories, but counting those Clinton "victories" Obama has actually increased his delegate lead thanks to Mississippi, the Texas caucuses and Obama's gaining the support of some Edwards delegates. Maybe Clinton supporters are not so good at math.

At this point I feel sorry for you Joan. You have tried to pretend to be objective in your opining about the Obama/Clinton race, but in the wake of Obama's speech you could only focus on the minutiae in way so petty that you come off looking very small and obviously with a vested interest. Now that so many people call you out for your bullshit, you feign concern about his getting back to what you think his message should be.

If your job was to be an impartial commentator, evaluating the candidates according to their abilities and the quality of their ideas, you have failed miserably. I hope that there were some establishment forces weighing down on you to make you produce the drivel we've recently been subjected to, because if it is all the product of your earnest analysis then you are woefully lacking, intellectually, for the position you hold.

  • Salon's Telling Omission

[Read the article: Polls: Obama weathers Wright controversy ]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

It is interesting that Salon failed to mention that Hillary's positives are at a new low in the poll and that she now has more people who think negatively of her than positively. I wonder why that was not considered significant enough to make it into their little write-up.

Obama is vapid? Really? You find him dull? Why does he have to turn people away from his rallies? Or are you calling him stupid? You think that the guy who was the head of the Harvard Law Review is unintelligent?

If Obama is so bad why is it that all his opponents can do is parse the words of his staff and acquaintances looking for words they can take out of context so they can accuse Obama of guilt by association? If you judge the man by the quality of his enemies, he comes off looking great.
