Hillary Hatred
[Read the article: Which Democrat can beat McCain?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]It's visceral. It isn't based on her voting record. Her voting for the War did not make a supporter out of anyone. Ditto for the ridiculous flag burning law. Anyone who thinks Hillary's conservatism has made her more palatable to people outside the Democratic Party is a fool.
Hillary's only chance exists because of the sheer incompetence of the GOP in the last 8 years. Even then, I think McCain would beat her.
The press will be kind to him. Idiot Democrats will whine and whine about it the unfairness of it all.
We need a candidate who people like or are neutral toward, not one who is despised by all but her base. And that voice... I would hate to have to listen to that for four years...
Anytime you start to feel sorry for Hillary, just remember that she helped loose the dogs of war in Iraq, when maybe forceful opposition from her and her husband could've helped prevent it. She was worried, not about her constituents in NY but about her ambitions, which in the end are more important to her than, say, the lives of hundreds of thousands of Iraqis.
She's "Strong on National Defense!"

I Have Never Heard Krugman...
[Read the article: Paul Krugman criticizes Obama supporters]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]...make such incoherent arguments. I have read two of the guy's books and find him to be quite dead on a lot of the time. He must owe the Clinton crew some favors. I am an ardent Obama supporter who is very anti-Clinton because:
1. She voted for the war.
2. She is despised outside of (and increasingly within) the Democratic Party.
3. She would very like lose to McCain.
4. She has run for president, knowing how divisive she is, and knowing that she would have a much easier path to the nomination (thanks to Bill's establishment connections) than to the White House.
It has nothing to do with a personality cult or anything like that.
Thank God it is looking likely that Obama will beat this egomaniac. If Hillary got the nomination, I would vote for only with the greatest sadness, knowing it was probably hopeless for her, but that at least if by some miracle she won, she would be less insane and appoint better judges than McCain.

This is Scary
[Read the article: Quote of the day: Obama on Clinton ]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]This letters thread basically shows why identity politics are so bad for America. These outraged ladies are so myopic about anything that might be twisted and turned so as to resemble an insult to their sex that they are blind to all else.
http://www.thenation.com/doc/20080303/moser
This article sums up the tactical advantage of backing Obama.
The last paragraph says it all:
"Purple America is ready, and eager, for Obama. His popularity with young voters, independents and suburbanites could very well translate into general-election victory. As for McCain--who is being hectored to pander even more to the GOP's right-wingnuts, which will only further alienate his former independent fans--his chances seem to boil down to one increasingly improbable headline: Hillary Clinton Wins Democratic Nomination."
But of course this means nothing to the insane Hillary supporters. At points in their lives, they have been slighted because of their sex. Therefore, logic dictates that they must support a female candidate for President, regardless of how much she is despised by the general population.
If you think that logic is flawed you are just a tool of the patriarchy. Such is the way the world works when you leap through the looking glass and enter Hillary-Lady Land.

Insanity
[Read the article: Quote of the day: Obama on Clinton ]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]"Noting that sexism exists - and is deemed acceptable - in contemporary politics, and desiring that that attitude change, is not the same as being an "insane Hillary supporter.""
I agree. I note that sexism exists - and is (tacitly) deemed acceptable by many in contemporary politics. I would also like those attitudes to change. And I am not a Hillary supporter because I am not insane. It is insanity to think that someone as despised as Hillary by wide swaths of the electorate is a good choice for a Presidential nominee.

Self Parody
[Read the article: Clinton looks to the heavens for victory]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Is this sheer desperation or typical craven pandering?
This reminds me of Dave Chapelle's hilarious "Black Bush: skit.
"Don't worry about what's goin on down here. I got that shit under control. Outer space is where the action's at. Mars, Bitches!"

Oh, Hateful Irony!
[Read the article: Dowd: Are (Hillary's) women necessary? ]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]It may seem if Maureen Dowd is caricaturing Hillary supporters in an unflattering way. This would be problematic if so many of these people would stop acting like caricatures. I work in a place with a lot of people with post graduate degrees. Almost all of them are for Obama. The only Hillary supporters around are stridently myopic feminists whose support of Hillary rests solely on her womanhood, their dubious, sophistical assertions to the contrary notwithstanding.
From the polling that I have seen and from conversations I have had, Hillary has the highest negatives of any politician in America not named Bush or Cheney. If she got the nomination, she would likely lose to McCain. Then we would get at least one more neadertal Supreme Court Justice and Roe v. Wade would likely get overturned. Good job, ladies!
Hillary supporters, your irrational, myopic investment in the idea of a woman president is bringing this scenario into being. And the more that Hillary sticks around and sustains her thoroughly negative campaign against Obama, the more she damages his chances in the general election.
With each passing day, I come to loath Hillary and her idiot supporters even more.

Clinton's Supporters
[Read the article: Obama advisor Power resigns]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]You might not like it, but Clinton's support does comes from women and uneducated Democrats. It is a verifiable fact.
Samantha Powers is a woman whose accomplishments and intellect put Hillary to shame. This shows how desperate and unhinged Clinton and her supporters are.
