But not on this one ...
You really blew it. I don't expect Obama, or Hillary to be bombarded with the past, because it gets the present out of the news cycle.
Surely you see this?
I really hope you're not buying into the notion that this is the job of the Media?
Surface, fluff, bullshit? Enough.
After 8 years of a pit in my gut, no more fluff.
Please, support substance.
It's bad enough to see his name in the NYT, bad enough his opinion is still sought after outside of FOX, but please, stop quoting him in Salon. It's not worth the key strokes.
The guy is a predictable, smirking idiot.
Obama will debate. Only he'll do it on his terms. Fact is the dem debates have been, for the most part a ratings boon for the networks. By holding out he'll have some leverage. That leverage will be to make the debate substantive.
On Olberman. Too sensitive there. He insinuated a private conversation where the reality of the situation is presented and she's offered 'something' she can live with.
Also, IMO the continuing primary is NOT hurting the Dems. I for one, from Oregon, can not believe my primary vote is FINALLY being fought over!!!!
Keep up the good work Joan. Love to read your stuff.
Obama has the dough to fight back. When he gets the nod, he'll have even more as diehard Clinton supporters (see Carville, James) write out their maximum check.
I think people are truly tired of these negative ads, so what Obama needs to do is buy the airtime to back-to-back these ads. When one comes out ... Boom! Here comes Barack with his positive message.
The example Joe uses about the gang activity would be easy to back up with tales of his early activism to STOP gang violence.
I have a good feeling about this. So far his repudiations of the negative stuff has been swift.
First off Wright is from a generation where he was despised in a way that people, white people of our generation will never know. Second, he speaks the truth about our nation. We were founded on slavery and genocide. Third, our generation will move on, because we understand, and accept, and do not ignore these truths.
An American can focus on 'nothing' for 18 seconds. Try it. Think of nothing.
In that statement is the whole point of what Wilber is trying to say.
I teach 5th graders and we used to do a field trip to a mile long lava tube in eastern Oregon. At the end, which only a handful would make it to, is a small room (10 x 10 by 4 high). The darkness and silence is like nothing they have ever experienced.
Problem is .. we've never gone 30 seconds without someone making noise.
We are, Americans especially (worker bees, I think one poster called us)afraid of the silent mind. What lies behind and beyond the noise that is the incessant chatter of consciousness? Of what are we afraid?
Please let the educated youngens' take over and make this religious bullshit a non issue.
I was a strong Hillary supporter, but slowly have changed my allegiance. If I hadn't already, this gas tax crap would've been the last straw.
I want a president who respects my elitism .. oops, I mean intelligence.
The ads that the RNC throws out will pale in comparison to what the DNC will put out on McCain.
He will be painted as out of touch, Bush 2.0 and Old, befuddled & cranky.
Straight talk express? Prepare to be de-railed!
So are they supporting McCain 'cause they're pissed off? Are they going to stay home?
Wake up people. It's over. It's not about respect between an organization (or an individual) and a candidate. It's about what's best for the country.
I believe that just like James 'anyone who crosses Hillary is a Judas' Carville will support Obama, so will these nitwits when they come snap out of their emotionally driven, illogical stupor.
The DNC needs to begin linking Rove to all the lowlife escapades and scandals he's been involved in, early, quickly and hard.
The firing of US attorneys for one. The sladering of a great war hero for another (Johnny Mc).
His voice needs to be made irrelevant asap, if it's not already. If W is at 25%, Rove's gotta be down there in Cheney territory.
Use your spell check. Got that out of the way (I'm an elementary school teacher).
To say that Barack Obama is 'a stubborn person of arbitrary or arrogant opinions' shows just how far you've got your trunk stuck up your ass.
I think you meant to say Bush was the most doctrinaire republican president in the history of our nation.
There that's better now.
Does anyone really think she meant she needs to hang in just in case Barack is assassinated? That's so ridiculous. Of course she meant that both Bill and Bobby were in it until June.
