Who cares about the debe in Washington?

Really. What is the public seeing here? Dick Cheney, behind the scenes for 8 years, comes out of the woodwork. I teach 5th graders, and the more they try to justify something they've done wrong, the more obvious it becomes they are lying.

Dick Cheney is a sad, sad figure who will viewed by history as a man with very little integrity who saw the need to go public and try to convince the public he is a seer, a wise pol who knows above all what is best for the country.

He is a sick, sick man, and he's changing nothing. The tide against him and his ilk, is way to powerful.

Don't give him credit.

Not a new idea.

Hey Greenwald, How about a little glass half full stuff?

Obama for torture.

Obama against civil liberties.

What's up? Am I stupid, or is this Obama guy the same as Bush?

Has he done anything that you agree with? Are they all really the same? Is there any method, whatsoever to his madness, or are they all just owned by the system?

Could there possibly be anything in what this administration is doing that you just don't get?

Enlighten me.

I apologize in advance for the sarcasm. I truly do respect the job you do. I looked up 'watchdog' in the dictionary, and your picture was there.

Good Job. Too hard on yourself. I'm proud of you!

He's an expert at what he does. It's his show.

The way to watch Billo, Hannity, etc.

My wife gets a kick out of when we're channel surfing and I hit upon one the idiots, I immediately mute and put in my own dialogue.

The jackpot is when I have Hannity and Coulter on the same screen.

Humor is the only way to avoid going crazy from these morons and their empty headed followers.

Glad you're letting it go Joan, it's way above you. I'm proud of you for doing it.

Nicely written..

However, regardless of his sincerity it does not cover the fact that this is an incredibly shallow human being.

To get so far in life, but society's standards. To be so successful. To have four beautiful children, along with a wife who has been with you from the start. Then to throw it away because you got horny? Because you 'felt the fire?' To sleep with another woman while still married is not only an incredible weakness, but it's a shallowness of spirit that is only compounded by the inherent hypocrisy.

Sad yes, but moreso, pathetic.

Scorpio..

Unfortunately, a pol who wears nipple rings and butt fucks the Captain, may be an indication of poor judgment. Gotta take the whole ball 'o wax.

Especially if the Captain's boyfriend is railing against gay relationships.

Great Job Glen addressing the 'two sides' approach

How long has this been going on?

I first noticed it myself when I used to listen to Al Franken's show religiously. He had these interns on who did this incredible due diligence, so that all his statements were backed up by research.

Then I'm having a discussion one day with my republican sister and she starts comparing Franken to Limbaugh. How they are both incendiary, mean, and twist facts to prove their case.

I began to notice these comparisons occurring quite frequently in the media, where one side, let's say Richard Clarke's would be presented vs Karl Rove's side. Both given equal time and equal validity.

I think the problem is with the listener. When I hear something, regardless of who it is from, I check it out. Most people are too lazy to do this, they trust that since the media is giving them two sides, both sides must be viable.

In this day and age, when we are all just few keystrokes away from fact checking, there is no excuse to listen to these bobbleheads and take what they say as gospel.

Keep it up Mr. G, an island in a sea of insanity.

Going to be a GREAT Senator

Al was the first comedian I ever saw who did smart political humor. Way back he showed an understanding not only of the absurdities of our political system, but common sense solutions.

Humor is key. He's way ahead there.

Smart. No question.

Hard worker. Proven.

Caring. Proven.

One reader made the great point that the pundits sit in their seats of non power and whine. Al did what he needed to do, and is now in a position to get something done, while the idiots continue to blow hard.

I teach 5th graders and these pundits are no more mature. Less, in fact.

Never ceases to amaze me...

Never.. that a class outfit like Salon wastes ink on Beck, an obvious moron.

Nice job Joan

Reason vs Limbaugh, always one of my favorite topics to read. What's nice of Rush and his tirades is that his voice, though booming is really heard by a minority.

Let this man continue to be the voice of the Republican party, soon it will be no more.

Misleading on Limbaugh numbers

Glenn, in spite of making great points you do a disservice to your readers by stating Limbaughs listeners at 15,000,000. It makes you guilty of the hyperbole you so often accuse others.

Original article: "Inglourious Basterds"

You lost all credibility with this statement...

On the other hand, I have little feeling for "Pulp Fiction,"

How anyone can call herself a movie reviewer can make this statement is beyond me.

'Little feeling' .. Wow. Can I get this job?

Inglorius Basterds was a mesmerizing movie. The dialogue, the camera shots, the tension and surprises leave one breathless. To call this movie boring is just ridiculous.

Too stupid

I agree with the writer who said Blount is too stupid to actually have made this connection. That's what's so damn sad of these fringe republicans, their insensitivity is astounding. They really don't get it.

Obama is playing this perfect right now. He knows all too well that whatever is said will be twisted into 'any criticism is racist'.

This is certainly not the grounds on which to fight America's blatant racism. There are plenty of examples of unmasked racism.

As the party (repub) shrinks, the fringe becomes more vocal, more representative.

Soon it'll be gone... bye bye Republican party!
