Differences..

Different time Joe.

This is the era of Air America, MSNBC, and a new generation of young, diverse voters who will laugh Rove and his disciples out of business.

The American people are not going to let their important issues be superceded by the obvious smears.

The birth certificate is a great example. No one with a brain is taking that with even a grain of salt.

More proof..

That the smears won't work.

Five pages of letters and not a single one seriously addressing the 'birth certificate is fake' moron who threw out the bait.

You know what's going to win the day?

After 8 years of a babbling, Cheney puppet, listening to Obama talk about his plans. His plans with his team. His team that he is directing to gather as much information as possible to address a problem.

Simply put. Ahhh, an adult in the whitehouse!

Original article: Disappointed by Rick Warren

What Obama knows and why he's smarter than the rest of us

By January 22nd no one is going to be talking about Rick Freakin' Warren.

Obama is reaching out to the 'flock' of one of the most powerful, influential evangelical leaders of our time. I can NOT stand the guy. However, ask yourself these questions Joan:

Would not inviting Warren have changed the mind of a single evangelical? (Not that inviting him will, but the chance is there)

Would excluding from the (unfortunate, yet necessary) religious aspects of the inauguration anyone who was anti-gay,abortion,stem cell be the inclusiveness Obama is seeking?

Are Obama's views regarding gay rights different today than they were yesterday?

Will Warren catch any flack for invocating at an inauguration that will have gays marching?

Obama has proven to me time, and time, and time again that his world view is so big picture, that I, a proud liberal, accepting child of the 60's am constantly in awe of the man.

Missing the point

It ain't Warren's ass he's kissing. It's the flock (a group under the guidance of a leader.

Obama knows that Warren isn't changing a hair on his intolerant back, but how else does he get to the 'herd'. How else???

He truly is everyone's prez .. not just we libs who would LOVE to see Warren ignored, Lieberman put out to pasture, Cheney perp walked and Bush in the slammer, but we ain't as smart as Obama.

The guy got us the presidency.

Of no Consequence

Ann Coulter adds nothing of any significance to our national dialogue.

I wish Salon would ban any mention of her. What does it accomplish?

Disclaimer: Totally Non-Homophobic

Occasionally Salon has a feature headline that's below it's standard of reporting. This is such a case.

With all that's going on, this article gets your feature spot?

If the amount of folks commenting is any indication, this decision is not arrived at by hits to the story.

Enough

Beck is insignificant. He does absolutely nothing to help better our country. He helps represent, along with Limbaugh, Hannity, Coulter and Palin a section of our culture that is shrinking.

Original article: Hoping for more than hope

Not about doubt, rather accountability then cold water in the face reality

Of course the sheen will wear off (somewhat) our shiny new toy. But if we have learned anything from the Bush era it is to consistently question our president and hold his feet to the fire. Of course we are going to give him a chance, and of course we are going to be disappointed.

My moment of cold water in the face came yesterday. Up until then I was able to justify in some way or another some of Obama's questionable moves, but with the CIA bombing continuing in Pakistan and innocent civilians murdered, my shiny new toy now has blood on his hands. Hard for me to be patient on this one.

What a f#@*ed up society we live in

Just the fact that I thought of using symbols instead of the word fucked. Holy shitballs.

Mike Phelps, greatest olympic athlete of all time, works his ass off, donates time to charity, loves his mom, and is being vilified cause he smokes pot?

Better he should be an alcoholic, at least he could hawk cereal then.

So damn stupid I wanna puke!!

Original article: Calm down, Keith

I don't think I've ever disagreed with a Salon writer more..here's why..

I thought I had put Bush and his squad behind me. I thought I had moved on.

Cheney's interview had a bad effect on me. I couldn't believe this guy was saying this stuff, thinking that he can get away with this stuff, still. It was, to me beyond the pale.

I felt that old Bush feeling .. totally helpless. All I could do was rant to family and friends.

Olberman's comment was not only needed, but for me cathartic. Who else would call this as he did? Who else has the combination of ego, liberal sensibility, knowledge and history to call this bastard on his unparalleled hubris?

Thanks Keith. Thanks so much.

Original article: Obama's team of zombies

Been digesting your analysis all morning David, and ...

I think your analysis, although valid is some areas is generally idiotic... and dangerous.

If the argument that, "It doesn't matter who the president is," didn't get laid to rest these past 8 years, then for some I'm afraid it never will.

Bush the same as Gore? Kerry?

Obama the same as McCain?

If I get you right, this is the foundation of your argument.

Let's see what the 'leader' does with these insiders before we condemn him to failure and the tag of 'same old, same old'.

No longer relevant

The genius of Obama is the fact that he is the one politician who, in my lifetime ignores the echo chamber.

Glenn, who the hell reads the Wall St Journal? Not the 'folks' Obama is speaking to.

He understands that people believe what they see. He has a long term, big picture view of things.

Karl reminds me of my 5th grade student who sitting over a desk with red ink graffiti on it, holding his red pen denied that he did it.

Folks, most of us know that Rove did it, and more are realizing it every day.

It's going to be a very long time, if ever, that the Republican party of Rove et. al. will rise to power again.

My hope is that Rove will end up doing some time, where he write his crap from a jail cell.
