Joan, what's the point?

Really. These votes are inconsequential now and have earned the right to be ignored. So let's ignore them, that's one of the crucial steps toward the healing of our nation. Keep it positive, for now at least. I want to see the positive reactions of the right wing, it's out there .. even Hume and Williams have a positive take.

Joan, you've worked tirelessly to get Barack elected. You've EARNED the right to IGNORE these idiots.

Created a Frankenstein

I was foolish to think that after the election, she'd go back to Alaska and 'disappear'. At least for a while?

I don't think I have ever seen a politician who comes off as this phony. It boggles my mind.

I can understand the uproar when people suggested that she should spend more time with her family, instead of all the campaigning. I can understand the question, 'Would you ask this of a man?'

But now? Now that the campaign is over, and she really has no reason to be away from her family, and her 'real' job. Why is she still on the campaign trail? A pregnant teenage daughter, and a down syndrome child is reason for anyone, man or woman to take a break and put some of that energy toward the family you chose to have.

Her priorities are fucked up. She is delusional if she thinks the true power base of the republican party is going to allow her to 'lead' them.

Interesting to watch

Barack Obama immediately comes out to defend a politician who put ideology and friendship before his country. He did this as proof that he plans to heal the divides caused by the past eight years. Few have been as divisive as Senator Lieberman.

I just am having a hard time getting over the fact that I just helped elect a mature adult to lead our country. Someone who truly knows the meaning of country first.

That all said. Does anyone think Lieberman will resign? Does anyone think he'll commit political suicide by caucusing with the Republicans. The guy will do whatever Reid tells him to do, and he'll be happy with it.

As much as I agree with Obama that we can not be vindictive, I also agree with him that the best people need to be in the best position. Given how adamantly Joe disagrees with Obama, why on earth would he want him in charge of Homeland Security. It's a delicate balancing act. Interesting to watch, interested to see how it plays out.

Obama consistently right

Bill Maher said it right when he said that it's nice to have a president smarter that him. Smarter than me as well. The guy ran a flawless two year campaign. His decision on Lieberman is another example of his political genius.

It's up to Hillary

Since it's already been offered, it's her call, and a tough one at that.

Now that Ted Kennedy has asked her to head the committee on health reform she can put her energy into her true passion. I think in the long run, Hillary's stamp on universal health care would be her greatest contribution.

Although I agree that she'd make a great Sec'y of State, she has already proven to be a great senator. We need great senators.

My vote is for Hillary to stay in the senate, and for Bill Richardson to be our next Sec'y of state. That's also my prediction, and I'm stickin' to it!

Wow

So all the talk about alternative energy, investment in green and putting people to work on infrastructure is all bullshit.

The whole world and the 'feeling' they have about this president. All bullshit.

A black president in the freakin' US of A. Bullshit.

I ain't no pollyanna, but for godsake, give the guy a chance to get going. I agree that if you put all these 'insiders' in an administration and let them run roughshod, they'll do what the hell they want. Everything that Obama has done so far leads me to think that not a whole hell of a lot is going to be done without his stamp on it.

That said. Keep it up Glenn. I think most folks are going to keep a close eye on this guy. With your help, it's easier.

Original article: The buck stops where?

Could it be?

Could it be that W really doesn't know what most of know? That is, that the intelligence was cherry picked by Cheney. If in fact, Cheney and Rummy spoon fed W only what they wanted him to know, and this narrow minded, blinders-on, intellectually lazy, in bed by 9:00 president really never saw, heard, or paid attention to anything that contradicted his narrow world view? It is so typical of the born-again mentality that facts are ignored, and that which goes against what you believe need not be given audience.

Could this be the case?

I think the only other alternative is that the man is pure-evil.

Either way. A sorry chapter in our history comes to an end.
