Original article: Making a mockery of 9/11

Undecided?

I guess as someone who considers himself a political junkie I don't understand how anyone could be undecided at this point.

Joan, your criticisms of Palin are preaching to the choir. We were scared shitless before this interview. Those who love Sarah Palin could care less about whether or not she knows the Bush Doctrine. They are the same people who blindly will believe that Obama should teach sex ed to 5 year olds.

At this point I don't care about the independents or undecideds because I truly believe, and have for some time that this election will not be as close as it's being made out to be. There are literally thousands of 'unlikely' voters in America who do are not figured in the polls.

People are jazzed about Obama's presidency. Personally I have several stories of my own of friends and relatives who are displaying a passion about this election that they never have before.

Listening to Obama speak last night on the community service forum I found myself, for the first time since 9/11 feeling like I would help our president do whatever he asked to help heal our country.

And healing is what this country needs.

Wow

These whack job will never be a majority in this country. With each passing day their views are seen for what they really are, a attempt to make everyone think the way they are.

To quote H.W. Bush .. Not gonna happen, not prudent.

Some more known-unknowns

First of all ... Finally a use for Rumfeld!

Known-unknown #1. The unprecedented ground game of the Obama team.

The Talk out of his Express Jumps the gun ... again

Now McCain looks even more foolish by suggesting that by riding off to Washington, thus suspending his campaign, he would somehow be helping. More foolish now that the current president has personally called both candidates and asked them to attend a meeting.

As has been the case over the past two weeks, McCain's shoot from the hip, not thinking it out style has shown him to be less than presidential. Obama on the other hand with his patient, thoughtful, get as much input as you can before reacting style, has proven to be the wiser candidate once again.

Correction on my post ..

Should have previewed.

I left the word ASS out of my subject heading.

Original article: Cranky vs. cool

First debate: What Obams knows.

There will be a debate where the full 90 minutes are devoted to the economy.

Obama's purpose last night was to reassure the nation that he knows his stuff regarding foreign policy. He overwhelmingly did this.

The American people know what's going on with the economy, we know that McCain sided with Bush's budgets, we know he's a Republican. So we're not buying any of his maverick, independent crap.

False assumption that expectations are low

Believe it or not there are many, many Americans who will be getting only their 2nd or 3rd good look at Palin. Hard to swallow, but not everyone who votes follows the news. While we're watching Harball, or CNN or even FOX, many if not most Americans are watching their can't miss dose of nightly sitcom or reality show.

I heard an interview with a gentleman from a swing state who said he will be watching the debate closely because he wants to see what Palin can do when she's not scripted. This, after the Gibson, Hannity, Couric and yelling answers to reporters and voters scenes.

It no longer matters what she says

The McPalin ticket will go down in history as one of the most ludicrous political pairings of all time. He, a bitter old pol who missed the boat and sold his soul. She an opportunist with neither the experience or the brains to convince even usually gullible Americans that she is fit to lead.

She makes an absolute fool of herself in the Gibson, Couric interviews, yet somehow these morons think we're going to buy the mean old liberal media tale.

Not buying it, and what's more, the negative ads you have been and are continuing to slime us with only drop your poll numbers even more.

I predict a landslide in November.

Shameless hipocrites

Nothing else to say. Not even worth a response.

Original article: How real Americans dress

Yeah, but ...

John Edwards haircut! Crucial to our national security.

And ... what if? Hillary's pantsuits cost several grand? I just know that our 'important' issue republican friends would have left that alone, in the name of what's best for our country, of course.

The hypocrisy knows no bounds. Truly.

Original article: Tim McCarver's flying start

So many worse than McCarver

How about Ron Darling?

Or the worst .. Harold Reynolds, the guy does not shut up.

I like Tim for two reasons.

I'm a Met fan.

Loved him as a player.

Original article: Pat Buchanan yells boo!

Sounds good!

Also, no one's mind is going to be changed by Pat's rantings. Especially since he continues to defend the Palin pick.

I went canvassing on Saturday for 3.5 hours

I went to my local Democratic headquarters with a friend on Saturday to pick up a list of likely Democratic voters, to make sure they voted, were going to vote and knew that it was too late to mail in their ballot. We're in Oregon, where we have 100% mail in vote. We also were to give locations of drop off points for their ballots.

We each covered around 50 homes in the time we were out. What surprised me most were how outdated the lists were. Abandoned houses, residents that no longer lived there, and folks who were not Democrats at all!

All in all it was a good experience. 99% of the folks I talked to were civil, whether they agreed with me or not.

Mostly, it made me feel like I did something. I think this is why Obama is going to win with a clear mandate. I was inspired to do this, as was my friend, as was my wife and her friend who canvassed several weeks ago.

Good feel in the air. Can't wait 'til tomorrow!
