Obama supporters voting for McCain? Don't think so.
[Read the article: Deep Democratic dissatisfaction]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]If Clinton gets the nomination, I believe there will be a resurgence of the Green or other independent party due to a mass exodus of the most progressive Democratic base. You know, the informed ones represented by the likes of Glenn Greenwald, the ones who voted in the current Congress which only has appeased the Administration. It won't be a knee-jerk bitterness reaction as has been suggested in these letters. Our Democratic loyalty has been tested to the brink and a huge number I believe are quite ready to bail if Clinton is nominated. The country needs big change, and we are not going to waste our vote on another McPresident.

Wesley Clark
[Read the article: What does Hillary want?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]The suggestion he be the veep is cringe-inducing. Yeah he's a military guy, but so what? Let's get off this idea a Dem needs a military presense. And while he may be nominally a Democrat, he's probably more conservative than Clinton.
Obama's going to bring minds onto his staff that think farther outside the beltway political boxes than perhaps any new administration ever, so he's going to need a proven progressive VP who can effectively play on that sort of team.

Clinton's Iran remarks
[Read the article: Clinton: "I am in this race"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I am so pleased some brave souls have put this in her face today. Does anyone know if a video clip of that is available anywhere?

Think about it
[Read the article: The Hydro 4000: Save 60 percent on gas?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Is this April 1? People's ignorance of basic physics is being taken advantage of here.
Electrolysis requires a huge amount of electricity to produce even a small amount of hydrogen. An engine uses a comparatively HUGE amount of air every minute. It is inconceivable that the TINY bit of hydrogen that MIGHT actually get into the engine would have ANY effect on combustion.
Remember, GASOLINE IS A HIGHLY CONCENTRATED LIQUID SOURCE OF HYDROGEN. The release of all that hydrogen makes the car go. Again, the tiny bit of hydrogen (and presumably the oxygen fraction as well) added by this device I doubt could have any measurable effect.

wicked
[Read the article: Opus]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Breathed, that one is seriously bent.

Well done, Andrew.
[Read the article: The peak oil culture wars]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Yes it is a culture war. Conservatives, neocons, unrestrained capitalists and their elected minions are having their last go at it during these Bush years. Beware the Powers reeling and lashing out in ever more irrational ways.
Time for everyone to wake up. Progressive and rational thought is in the ascendency.
The changes needed must happen NOW. Unfortunately for civilization, that isn't going to happen. But for those of us who are preparing and know what to expect, it will be interesting to watch it play out.
One of your best posts, IMO.

That was a nice piece, Heather
[Read the article: I Like to Watch]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Really enjoyed that one.

This average white guy LIKED the PRE-campaign Hillary
[Read the article: Gender lessons]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]It's what she revealed during the campaign that turned me totally against her.
As for women's desire for a woman to be president, why does it have to be Hillary? LOTS of others I'd vote for.

McCain? The RNC aint over till it's over.
[Read the article: Is McCain's campaign in trouble?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Isn't it always possible for a left-field candidate to be brought forward in a party convention? It makes no sense for Republicans to go through with a McCain nomination. There are many possible candidates that could be drafted who would grab the American imagination much more than McCain. Democrats shouldn't plan too much on a McCain-Obama race until after the RNC.

Right-wing trolls--just ignore them
[Read the article: How much will white racism hurt Obama?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]It should be common knowledge now that the reactionary right is encouraging its minions to infiltrate liberal blogs and plant seeds of racism and hatred. Best thing to do is to ignore them, call them out, or not let them influence the debate. Don't waste your energy on arguing with them, it's exactly the diversion they want.
You can't win over the proudly ignorant with logic and reason. We should simply appreciate that they are reading our thoughts and ideas.

would rather see her real face
[Read the article: Heaven, heartache and the power of deviled eggs]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I think it's a "country" thing, but there must be a face under all that makeup, or air brush as was previously suggested. I wonder if Salon just grabbed her agency's promotional photo instead of looking for something more real?

@MusicRowDem, et al
[Read the article: Heaven, heartache and the power of deviled eggs]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Aw heck, ya'll, we ditn mean nutin by it. We's jus tryin to git yer goat.

Androids for peace
[Read the article: Today in "Ugh": The perfect woman]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]If a man or woman cannot maintain or appreciate a living partner, then what's the fuss about allowing them a fake one? At least no one gets hurt that way, and the world might just be a lot more peaceful place if everyone gets what they need.
We've come to accept all kinds of previously deviant relationships as normal, this is just one more that we'll have to get over.

Once again you all took Walsh's bait.
[Read the article: Big weekend news]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Look everyone, you're being baited. Walsh is just rattling your cages again, this time with the ridiculously disingenuous "don't know why he decided to leave his church" line.
Wonder why all the vehemence against Walsh? My theory is it is partially Walsh herself calculatingly fanning the flames of controversy to keep Salon readership in the live well.
As for Shapiro providing a good explanation of what went on with the MI-FL delegate decisions, I do not concur. His piece left me even more frustrated for yet another incomplete explanation of who-got-what and how and why. To complete the picture, go to the AP article Joan references.

Clinton deserves greater punishment
[Read the article: Why not let Clinton keep the four Michigan delegates?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Clinton made a promise to the Democratic party to remove her name from the Michigan ballot if Michigan were to hold a rogue primary. Obama and Edwards both removed themselves from the Michigan ballot. Clinton DID NOT.
For this lack of integrity to her own party, she loses only 4 delegates. I'd say that is quite the slap on the wrist.

Women love it
[Read the article: Cavemen fought over women too]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Women are hardly passive in this game. Women love to be competed for and they have of course benefited ever since evolution developed sexual reproduction.
Competition will always be necessary, though that this continues today seems a mild perversity. I have often noted firsthand that women need to bring their rivals together. Almost without fail, my current particular object of desire/girlfriend will eventually have maneuvered me and her other admirerer or ex into a room together, then sit back and enjoy the interaction. What has been notable to me was the identical barely suppressed glee of the one who arranged the set-up.
