Thanks for the clarification. I think you're right, martial law would be a very hard sell, and is probably unnecessary. I don't know about forestalling an election. I mean, why come up with a pretext for that when you can just cheat your way to victory? I guess the real question is whether that's something Bush/Ctheney control, or whether it's better for their corporate backers to get another Republican in there.

I'm pretty sure those guys could live with Giuliani or Romney.

I wouldn't bet on an election being postponed, but I think it's amazing that the US has gotten to the point where someone can bring up that possiblity and people will actual stop and think about it.

Based on the model they were using, I'm volunteering right now to perform those searches. :-)

Haven't listened to this yet, but honestly, I'm not expecting to be any more impressed than I was with any of his previous efforts. I've heard everything Jay-Z (so far) has had to say done better, and in more interesting fashion, by other people.

Crazy Lemon - it's also nauseating and frustrating, for those who've had to deal with it. This has always been true, I believe, and it's nice that every once in a while the spotlight gets put on this problem.

That, in a nutshell, describes several discussions I had with editors, back in another life. The whole "two sides to every story" is completely false, and wrong, and as long as they're trying to shove that down kids' throats in J-School, the longer this problem is gonna be around.

I'm sure that there are quite a few journalists who want to do the job right. Until there are more editors that let them, the MSM will continue to fail to be any of the things they claim to be.
