Love the imagery

Thanks for that Glenn, that made me laugh out loud at work. Then I had to pause and reflect, because I've seen places like that.

Anonymust, why would Bush and company have to react like Musharraf? They've already got all the power they need to do whatever they want, and I don't see a lot of things being done to slow them down.

That explains it

I always wondered why so many conservatives seemed to genuinely have so much respect for Bush. Now, it's so obvious. Any man who is so capable as to have parents so well positioned, is obviously someone with all the right qualities...

Really?

That was supposed to be satire? That's not your day job, is it? Who's your model, Michael Richards?

And it wasn't my spotlight, or light in general I was talking about in my post...read much?

Unconscionable?

Virtue, I doubt you know what that means, really. Sand ant? Go home, Troll.

Monday, October 15, 2007 11:37 AM

Hear that sound?

It's the cockroaches sneaking around in what's left of the rotten political system. You don't need a flashlight, you need a spot light shining down there. Everybody needs to see just how rank and corrupt everything has gone. Thanks for upping the candlepower Glenn.

I'll be stunned if I ever see this story in, and explained, the mainstream news.

7 countries in 5 years?

Wow, that's not only stupid, but it's clear they didn't even know what resources they had available. I guess that's not a surprise.

They read these

Hey, if they're reading the comments, here's one for you: answer the questions, or be exposed as yet another hypocrite.

I'm fine with it either way.

Every day

I see a story that makes me think "these must be some of the least intelligent mofo's alive" and then it gets surpassed the next day. Every single day.

God help her if she'd been carrying an Etch A Sketch.

If you've done nothing wrong...

I was going to say a few things on why that's just dumb, but Michael Harold beat me to it. Good post.

Who can seriously believe that?

Friday, August 31, 2007 04:17 PM

That's depressing

RMP, that's the most depressing post I've seen in a while. I'm talking about the one you posted at 1:01 pm.

Good Post Glenn

I'm not sure that what the US has right now qualifies as a real democracy anymore. It'll take a lot of work to stop things from sliding really badly, really quickly.

Gotta say though, we need to wait for General Petraeus' report this month.

Original article: Sparring with Snow

Snow jobs no more

In an organization of contemptible people, Tony Snow managed to make himself stand out. That speaks volumes to me.

He was just awful. Cocky, uninformative, and often clueless,a perfect spokesman for the administration.

Nice letter William

Just catching up here, but that read very well.

The Fool, not so foolish

I think you're right about Shooter.

What I don't understand

I get what the mindset of this useless grouping of pseudo-intellectuals is. I just don't understand why anybody should pay attention to a people who are remarkable only for their ability to be wrong about important issues. I mean, obviously, totally wrong.

Everything they say should be greeted with a chorus of laughter. Nice post Glenn.

Original article: The Padilla verdict

Thanks Sysprog

That clip was awesome. Inspiring, really. It's tough trying to come up with a country that judge could belong to today, if his ideals are supposed to be representative of his country...

Original article: The Padilla verdict

Just my opinion

But in its way, this is as bad a stain on the US as anything I've read in years.

It's so sad. Anybody who can do something like this to another human being is incredibly sick.

Original article: The Padilla verdict

Perhaps it's a sign of their extreme incompetence

That the Bush administration has managed to make a man who probably was a terrorist look sympathetic. Of course, worldwide, more people probably consider Bush a terrorist.

This whole case was a just wrong, and pointless, from the get-go. Thanks Glenn.

Seems to me

The people responsible for the aftermath in Iraq are the mofo's who invaded in the first place. Saying anything else is just an attempt to shift blame for this debacle, and let me tell you, internationally anyway, that's never going to happen.

Wednesday, August 15, 2007 11:07 AM

Good Lord, are there no standards anymore?

Shooter, your post has so many errors in it, I would have to take the afternoon off to respond to them all. The short form is, the facts were available before the war started, many people besides myself knew the supposed explanations were garbage, and dreaming up theoretical scenarios that bare no resemblance to reality is a poor way to craft an argument, let alone run a country. Here's a hint for you - if you get your news from a source other than FOX, the odds of you understanding what's going on around you increase astronomically.

That's very likely the last time I'll respond to anything you write because, from what I've read here, you tend not to answer questions or make much sense anyway. Why exactly do you write here? Making a few bucks on the side?

Tuesday, August 14, 2007 10:20 PM

Wow

Ok, I got to this thread late, but I'm SOOO tired of people saying that "in retrospect, we should have known that there was something wrong with the case for war." In retrospect?

The case for war had more holes than a mountain of swiss cheese used for target practice. It was obviously a crock to most people around the world, I guarantee it. In fact, a fair amount of foreign media were poking holes in every theory the Bush Administration put forth before the war started.

So now, the US is stuck in this horrible occupation, which is also what a lot of people outside the US predicted. Why didn't people know this beforehand? Anybody who was really interested could have found all the information they wanted to about Sadaam's relationship with Bin Laden, or how nobody seemed to think that there were any WMD's, and certainly not in any amount that was dangerous to anybody.

The fact that the "scholars" have access to way more information than I do and still screwed it up should be embarrassing to them. The fact that people still listen to them is embarrassing to us.

That cartoon has it about right, I think.
