I'm not sure I believe that

As cynical as I am, I'm still not sure, evidence to the contrary, that McCain would be that stupid. Is he really THAT easy to manipulate? What is he, a child?

And some people want him to be president?

Don't they even know?

These people are living in 1984, and don't seem to recognize it. It's really sad. Didn't they read Orwell? Were you amused and yet sickened at the same time when you first read that article Glenn? Good article.

Make It Stop, it's a lot like the fact that Iraq didn't have WMDs. After the fact, tons of people saying this is such a big shock, and the information was there the entire time. You didn't even have to be an economist to understand this was coming, you just had to read what some of them were saying. Paul Krugman was saying this was going to happen over a year ago.

Missioncreep

Thanks for that link. Cleese does a better job than most of the talking heads on American TV.

I see a day in the future

When even Republicans won't be able to explain what this Ayres insanity is. My prediction is about 10 years.

That was the funniest line in the whole article, thanks Gabriel.

Jim Montague

Wow, did I ever not need to see that video. There's ten minutes of my life I won't get back. You're right, you can't educate these people, they need an intervention.

Jim White, good call. I'd love to hear if anything gets done, that page was disgusting.

Glenn, thanks for pointing out Ruffini. That's another blowhard I have to try and debunk in conversations now. Oh, and thanks for the links, that "debate" was hilarious.

Well, that explains a lot

Thanks for this Glenn, that was a good interview. I'm really curious to see what the documentary looks like now. Bill Kristol pushed Palin? That makes perfect sense. If the Creationists really wanted to get people on board, they'd just have Kristol say he believes in evolution...that guy is always wrong.

Ondelette, I just wanted to thank you for the work you're doing. I check out your blog regularly.

mercy?

I just wanted him to say she's not qualified. We all know it's true, just say it.

I guess for some people

like, the people who think McCain won this, veracity doesn't matter. I couldn't believe how many times he was lying...a lot of the rest of the time, he seemed confused.

As most of his supporters must be.

Amazing

Ohiopolitico, couldn't you even come up with an interesting, not-so-easily-debunked lie?

Weeping

Again, I've got to say you're a better man than I am. I can't feel sorry for McCain at all. First, he might still become president. Second, he only started to react to Obama getting death threats at Palin rallies after he saw how it was polling. I just think he's a snake who deserves every uncomfortable moment he's going to have in the next few weeks.

Gotta say, I was really creeped out throughout the debate

McCain's rictus smile would have terrified me as a child. I don't see how anybody could have given him the debate, even if he had looked normal.

I still think Obama needs a 15 point lead before he can relax. He needs for the perception to be that McCain has NO chance of winning...or the electoral fraud will be enormous.

@ Weeping

Oh, don't misunderstand me. I wasn't saying that you had any of those kind of positive feelings for McCain. I understood it was just a kind of human sympathy.

I guess I just can't do that for people when I think they're doing really bad things, or are inherently mean. And I think John McCain is a really mean man, when it comes right down to it.

It actually scares me that he could be president. I don't think it's what the world, let alone the USA, needs right now.

JCourt

Yeah, I've got to agree with you. I'm not wishing anybody dead, but angry? I can relate to that.

Double R

You think McCain would do a better job of preventative peace? The guy who wants to bomb Iran and has called for 100 years of War in Iraq "if necessary" (i.e. there's still a drop of oil in those fields), that guy, is going to be better for peace? And you think anybody here is gonna believe that?

He's full of bluster without a military to back it up, because they're all stuck somewhere.

Go back, think about it some more, and try again.

How about the economy? You think he'd be better there too?

Why are you even wasting your time? I can't assume you actually believe any of the things you said, but if you do, you need help.

Reader squared

Readerreader: "To be clear, I wasn't saying it is dangerous to have a progressive tax system. I think it is dangerous to say to 40% of the population that does not pay any federal income tax, how would you like $1,000 of your rich neighbor's money as a rebate, a credit, whatever you want to call it? Why not $2,000? That's where we're going. We've never been there before."

The rich have been getting the tax money of everyone else, so we're already "there". How is it that you don't understand this? Oh, right, you probably do.

@THawk 7

Which focus groups? I mean, since every poll out says that people think Obama won.

Back to the bridge.

Mars TV. That was pretty good, gave me my smile for the morning.

No offence Alex

But I call bullshit. You can hear it on some of the videos I've seen, really clearly.

Thursday, October 16, 2008 01:16 PM

Oh no, they didn't mean anything

And they'll be the first to act shocked if someone takes a shot at Obama too, right? I'm tired of all of this BS; all they're doing is applying cover to the violent crazies out there. I prefer it when they understand that they're attitudes AREN'T socially acceptable, so at least I don't have to hear this crap.

It's out

The story about Samuel "Joe the Plumber" Wurzelbacher is front page news on the NY Times, so all the trolls arguing about this can stop now. Time to let the adults speak.
