Its the hypocracy that matters and the Republicans are masters as sexual hypocracy.
My ring finger is slightly longer on one hand and slightly shorter on the other. I always take experts like this with a grain of humor because actual people will defy the stereotypes every time.
"I think the major problem in them so far has been a way that sometimes she talks like she's speaking into a megaphone. That amplifies the story that's already out there about her, that she's cold and -- I guess "shrill" would be the closest to what the story is."
I have said over and over that she needs to adopt a more conversational tone and get over the Ted Kennedy bellow every time she talks. I hope someone in her campaign is listening!
- that man about town.
Republicans invented hate-filled spewing as political discourse. You are just a continuation of an old GOP tradition.
Hey Anonymous - okay, I linked on your urls and it was a snippet of someone pondering something about the Craig situation. No 'top feminist' bloggers, no complete discussion, no background for the discussion. If you just want to troll around then I suggest you go to the freepers site and get your jollies there.
Please, go back and reread your letter and you will see why no woman loves you and why you will continue to whine about it. By god, you are the most clueless man on the face of the earth - a giggle fest demonstrates how men love women more than women love men? What do you want - a room of rotating peckers?
unless they remove their veils and prove their identity like the rest of us.
Since when did 'of all time' come to mean 'last two years'?
Essays like this are like listening two drunk college boys on a call in sport shows. Maybe Traister and Miller were drunk when the wrote it - there is no other explanation of such a juvenile waste of space.
Does Romney get anything right? Kerry is not a candidate.
Where do the Andrea Dworkin followers meet? Do they have meeting houses on every corner? Do they have dozens of think tanks? Are the beloved and quoted by the traditional media? Do they claim to represent the moral values of the entire country? Are they tax exempt? Do they hold political office? Do they stage political debates? Do they control a major political party?
This has been an non-issue for the 35 years I've been in the workforce. My co-workers with kids take off when they need to and those of us without kids do as well. Its called 'flex time' or 'paid time off' or even 'vacation time'. Most workers get some form of it.
I don't care if a co-worker leaves early or comes in late. I am under no obligation to finish other people's work when my own schedule is full for months in advance. Aren't their projects and responsibilities waiting for them when they return the next day?
No way...even a stopped clock is correct twice a day.
I loved The Civil War but I'm not watching this series. War has been done to death from lousy John Wayne movies to the local nightly news where we are told every time 'our' troops head off to Iraq to fight 'our' war for 'our' freedoms to being called a traitor for not supporting 'the troops'. I'm sick of the whole thing.
I recently found out my father's uncle died in Irag in 1916 at the age of 30. He was in the Royal Highlanders during the 'War of 1914' and died of disease. The family never talked about him - my father didn't know he existed - he wasn't even mentioned in his mother's obituary 25 years later. I am sadden by the whole thing. War is hell.
It is all about anonymous and Parson Jim having their daily spew-fest against women. If these men had a fresh or interesting thought in their tiny little brains they wouldn't find it so necessary to hijack any and every article dealing with women. I'd like to meet the women who have discarded these men in the real world, as apposed to the blog world, do they all have restraining orders against them?
This is an important issue and although Salon readers may not have a solution, their comments and insights are thoughtful and intelligent. Well, of course, except for Shadow who just can't seem to figure out that women don't hate men - they just can't stand him.
Many people in this country have had the same Senator or Congressional Rep for longer than that. Does it really matter what the name is? Would it make a difference if it had been Bush then Clinton then Cheney? I don't think so.
I don;t even have to read this article to know Broadsheet has outlived its usefulness.
Why won't they put their support and vast amount of money behind Huckabee. He is pretty much perfect on their issues.
If Clinton can get more corporations and other foundations to give money to help the poor - more power to him. He is using his celebrity for good and more people should do likewise.
Only among those who will be force fed fake and hypocritical outrage by Limbaugh, Beck, and other right-wingers that anything a Democrat does is bad, bad, bad. The rest of the world doesn't give a damn.
I live in Iowa and I've been to several Bill Richardson events this year - he always mentions he is Hispanic - it is part of his schtick.
BTW - I don't think the NYT has ever represented Iowa well and I suspect it doesn't represent other states well, either. To get to the truth and validity about a place requires thoughtful consideration and openmindedness - not what you read in a glib newspaper article.
