Missing the Main Story

All the while you're missing the main story of John Edwards being the candidate who is being the most effective in exploiting and exposing the weakness of the Democratic front runner. Check out this Edwards video:

Excellent ad. And one that will kill her in a general election.

But John Edwards is the story here. Not Barak Obama.

Here's Why They're Piling On

Maybe they're piling on because if you get nominated, we'll loose the general election in November.

Reminds me of a Quote

Adelai Stevenson was being introduced when running for President. The speaker said, "Governor, I want to assure you that you have the vote of all thinking Americans."

Stevenson popped up and said, "No! That's not enough. I need a majority."

Seriously, whether we agree with Kucinich is irrelevant. It would be suicide to nominate him. We have to nominate a candidate that would get the Democratic primary vote AND the independent vote, or we loose the election. And frankly, Kucinich wouldn't even get most of the Democratic voters in most States.

Proud to Be A Trial Lawyer

I'm a trial lawyer, and damned proud to be one. I'll I can guarantee that John Edwards is proud to have been one, too.

What is a trial lawyer? Somebody who stands in court with an injured party, often against the strongest elements of our society. We make sure that working families, individual workers, and consumers who often lack resources get to have their day in court so that a jury of their peers can hear their grievances to court.

If you want a world where people don't have a voice in court; where they won't be able to find some one to advocate for them; or where corporations can cripple and maim with impunity, there is a political party for you -- it's called the Republican Party. But is you want someone who is willing to fight the good fight; to stand up to the biggest and wealthiest special interests; and want someone who has successfully done so in the past, then John Edwards might be your candidate.

By the way, if you want to see some ways in which trial lawyer heroes other than John Edwards have made your life safer, check this link:

Whistling Past The Graveyard

All you people who say that this guy is easy to beat are either completely out of touch with mainstream swing voters or are whistling past the graveyard. Huckabee is, by far, the most electable Republican candidate. I think the Democrats will be able to beat Guliani or Romney like a rented mule. But Huckabee is likable, is actually compassionate (as opposed to just rhetorically so), and seems sincere in is religious convictions.

And while I understand that sincere religious convictions, especially very fundamental ones, may make him seem like he's from "Bat Shit, Arkansas" to some of you, that 90+% of Americans are Christians, and most of those consider remarks like the one I quoted to be demeaning. Has everyone forgotten that Bush won twice against good men running against Democrats on the three G's -- God, Guns, and Gays? While people are SLOWLY coming around on equal rights (outside of marriage, for now) on Gays, they are still in favor of candidates who are pro-God and pro-Guns. And we forget this at our own peril.

The Decline of Salon

I've noticed a general decline in the quality much of what Salon.com reports, but this article takes the cake. Is this really useful to anyone? If this were handed in as a project in a Sophomore journalism class it ought to get a C- or a D. This isn't good or even moderately average political reporting. This is just plain junk. It's bad enough that most Americans can't celebrity gossip from news, but when Salon can tell the difference, it's time to call the dogs and piss on the fire. This site is finished. Just a horrible of mindless drivel.

Never Curse Wisdom Because it Comes Late

Well, you ought to at least give the guy credit for honesty.

"I have neither the time nor legal background to figure out who's right."

Pretty much sums up the entire right wing echo chamber and the corporate media as a whole, doesn't it? Three guess on whether that language appears in his column next week (and the first two don't count)!!!
