@J T

You are exactly correct

Ayers turned himself in in '80

And that was the end

Of the Weathermen sect.

Thursday, October 9, 2008 11:51 AM

Bullshit

Can aquire a life

Unless you cut it clean

With a sanitized knife...

Thursday, October 9, 2008 12:09 PM

Don't let the door

Slam into your ass

On the way out

Cos lies cannot stand

When certainty

Chases away

Doubt.

Thursday, October 9, 2008 12:32 PM

Truthfully

You riddle on

So juicily.

Thursday, October 9, 2008 11:38 PM

@Andrew

I've never heard of this movie or Max Ophulus, but Peter Ustinov and Oscar Werner are reason enough to see any picture. I'm gonna look for this one.

I like Mike Leigh's work

"Naked" was great. It was like a kick in the head that wakes up the dead...

@Queen Bee

More "funny honey," I sure hope your bosses, are payin' you good money.

Ridley Scott

Has superlative stylistic skills, but as a story teller, he sucks.

@memphis bluz

Bro, McCain IS second banana...Palin's the only one that's producing even so much as a small flicker of fevered interest amongst the repubs.....

Friday, October 10, 2008 03:01 AM

We had this sort of thing in the 1860's

But in the 21st century?

Alaska wants to break away and become...what?

Original article: Quote of the day

If Howard Beale were here

To decry the mad hypocricies of our times

Maybe you'd have a chance with the microphone

To rail at all the swarms of media

Enlivened lies....

It's such a sad pity

That people look with such credulity

Up to the idiot box

As the final last word on all world matters

When you must account for most television viewers

Having all the brains and bright dicernability

Of a bag full of rocks....

As Howard said: "Televison is the most awesome goddamn force

In the whole godless, goddamn universe!"

Not in the whole godless goddamn universe

Has there ever been such a sometimes boredon relieving blessing

But almost always invariably

A much more reliably regular

CURSE....

So get up out of your seats and just turn it off

TV is just a goddamned amusement park

It'll peddle any shit that you wanna hear

YOU are the reality

IT is the make believe mirror

The projection

Of all that you hope

And most essentially

Of all

That you

FEAR....

Original article: Another Ayers ad

McCain makes a McMedia made stink

Blowing bogus life into a non-existant "link"

It has always throughout history

Been noticed

That it is always more cost effective

And thrifty

To run with a pack full 'o lies

Perchance to see 'em all fly

Because the devil

Always rewards

The inventive machinantions

Of the tirelessly

Shifty

Of course a man named Faust

After selling Mephistophles his soul

Learned to his own chagrin

That he'd dug himself into his own deep hole

May it be likewise so

With this trademark mark of John McCain

May he be consumed in the drowning down pour

Of his own devious

Devil's rain....

Friday, October 10, 2008 12:51 PM

Lord help 'em...

If they turn to Caribou Barbie, Sarah Palin.....

Friday, October 10, 2008 12:57 PM

Holy High Priest of American Consevatism!

Willaim F's son has jumped the boat?

How in the name of Bizouzou

Will his legacy stand alfoat?

Friday, October 10, 2008 01:54 PM

To be fair...

Bin Laden couldn't fuck this country up any worse than Bush has...

Friday, October 10, 2008 02:13 PM

It's very refreshing to hear General Betray-us talking so candidly

About his own people.

And by the way

You're not gonna get any argument form me.

What's wrong with arabs?

We gave the world the arabic numeral system, the science of algebra, passed on the knowledge of the Greeks through the cultural conduit of Spain, and modernized medicine when Europe was still stuck in the mists of the middle ages, using religious incantations and leeches to cure sick people.

I know from a recent experience that some latent attitudes are being whipped up and sharpened by certain people

A woman friend of mine in her 40's who knows I'm of an otherly extraction (Libyan-Egyptian) who is perhaps one of the most apolitical people I know, began to opress my ears with all kinds of ugliness relating to Obama the other day. Bald faced bunk of such a special stupid sort, and unsupportable type, always connecting Obama to terrorist organizations originating in the Arab World.

After listening to yarns pehaps more fantastic than those the famous story teller Sheherazad could have concieved, I finally came to the end of my indulgent patience. Finally I had had my fill of this femme le fruitcake's foaming fantasies, and told her quite pointedly to fuck off.

It's very interesting how in the midst of a mindless hysteria, how you often find out who your real friends are, and who your real friend's aren't. It's almost like going through the Guld War again when I was in my 20's.

The thing that really turned things for me, was when this imbecilic individual actually suggested that if Obama becomes president, he will be sworn into office holding his hand over the Koran.

I agree with Hutman. I sure hope Obama can raise the standards of eductaion in this country, especially about that huge area of the world out there, that is not America.

Palin and McCain

Are pilotin' a boat

That's not too swift

If they think that this

Captain "Ay-rab"

Won't stand up

To their shit...

Cos I'm not a "wog"

Or

"Ain't nuthin' but a hound dog"

And

I won't be drug down

Into the undertow

Of the rebublican's

Hateful bog....

Original article: Don't call it mumblecore

Mumblecore?

I remember back in the day we used to call a certain style of punk that was fast 'n loud "hardcore."

But "Mumblecore?"

I'm not gonna go to a movie to see a bunch of people mumble their way through some film student kid's fucking experiment in the art of mumbling.
