Why go out and see Lawrence of Arabia for the umteenth time

When we get to watch the idiocy of Bush of Baghdad everyday for free on the idiot box? Lawrence has been restored and special editioned to death. I love a lot of Lean's other films too like Bridge on the River Kwi, Great Expectations, Ryan's Daughter, A Passage to India, and what I think is his best, Doctor Zhivago.

Thanks for the insights Mr. Keillor

I've always enjoyed you on the radio, and your political satires on Praire Home Companion are some of the smartest and funniest sketches on the American scene. Be well, and keep on doing good works.

@Benny 74

Benny my boy, what a bunch of people in an audience put together on their own is none of Obama's affair. He did not once ever say "Sarah Palin is a pig." Comprende?

Thanks for blowing out the blood vessels of more than a few of the preciously, politically correct around these parts, and especially for rubbing the "righteous" republicans the wrong way. Original article: Arab-American beauty

@Andrew

Too bad this movie comes off as a trite TV movie, because it isn't trite subject matter for a good drama. I'm an American of Egyptian-Lybian extraction, and I'd like to see a movie that explores the lives of arabs and or Arab-Americans in our contemporary culture, and what it's like to be on the public's suspicion list sometimes. Or even still, the public's shit list. From the sound of it, "Towelhead" kind of reminds me in tone of Stephen Frear's adaptation of Hanif Kureishi's story "My Beautiful Laundrette," which at the time I saw it, was to me a real routine kind of television drama in most every way. Frear's had some fine intentions, but "Laundrette" just felt like a light entertainment, with the punchy parts left out. Frears though I feel is a good film maker. "Dirty Pretty Things" was one of the most powerful movies I've ever seen about the invisible lives of illegals in London. Anyway, there will be other movies.
