Nobody wants to see Bush in New Orleans

And McCain is just lame.

Monday, September 1, 2008 12:33 AM

The big brunt of Gustav is supposed to hit land fall around late morning today (Monday)

I'm right across from the Causeway which goes into Merarie, which is about 30 to 45 minutes away from New Orleans. It's as quiet as a tomb right now. The air is still. Some heavy rain came around 7:00 PM on Sunday. Rained some then stopped. Just real quiet now.

Late Monday morning, if anything like Katrina, I'll look out the window and see high winds bending the tops of trees all the way to the ground, and hear that roaring hell bound wind tunnel like sound.

Believe you me, people all around southeast Louisiana remember how Bush wasn't prepared or really all that concerned about what rack and ruin came with Katrina.

Bush was more concerned about pacifying suicide bombers in Baghdad than about what was happening in one of the oldest southern cities in America.

He has about four phoney months left in office, and everybody's counting the days until he goes the way of a bad memory, and nobody's looking to McCain as a breath of fresh air either.

If later this morning turns out to be a really bad scene, we don't need assholes like Bush and McCain putting on his very best photo op preen.

Those two blowhard boyscouts aspire to the asinine aspirations of winning unwinnables in Iraq, pouring billions down a sink hole.

I guess the world is watching, but over here, on Bush, nobody is counting.

Screw swift boating

Please, no pleasure cruises. Give the repubs a good swift kick in the ass until their asses are as red and swollen as the backside of a baboon.

Monday, September 1, 2008 01:57 AM

Thanks gehgoeson

Hope you find peace in your heart. I figure it's only a few hours until the full fury blusters through. It's about 4:00 AM here right now. I walked my dog about half an hour ago and the wind is picking up. No cars, no people, no nothing. I just hope that in about 8 to 10 hours from now I still have my electricity. No power is the worst. When I went through Katrina in Hammond La., we didn't have any electricity for about 3 weeks. Still waitin' and expectin' whatever's in store.

Monday, September 1, 2008 02:15 AM

I didn't know NYShooter was a no quit for Mitt. That NYShooter, could anybody be cuter?

Monday, September 1, 2008 05:08 AM

Man..

McLame and Bush are just more of the same.

Right now it's 7:03 AM

McCain and Mrs. McMannakin?

Am I supposed to give really give a good goddamn?

The winds have picked up

The power's still fortunately on

I'm here in my house with my home dog

And all the neighbors are gone.

Monday, September 1, 2008 05:23 AM

@Juliebird

What does a republican hat look like?

Ever see a dunce cap before?

Well there you go...

Monday, September 1, 2008 05:34 AM

Born again badass...

Hutman, you're my main, kickin' repub butt man.

In the words of Dr. Lee

With whom I incidentally agree

"something's not right here."

I've said it time and time again

Something's weird about McCain's bionic manakin.

Monday, September 1, 2008 06:00 AM

@Slackie

In New Orleans the local city government has got things moving along, don't let the republicans con you with any of their same old sing song.

The governor called up help from the national guard, and as far as I'm concerned, Bush and McCain are just sittin' on their fat lard.

Over a million people have been evaced from New Orleans and surrounding vicinity, but what Gustav's gonna do is still wait and see.

Outside there's a bluster, but it's not yet a full thruster...

Monday, September 1, 2008 06:07 AM

I'm stickin' around

Cos I'm not on...

below sea level ground.

Original article: Hurricane politics

I'm in southeast Louisiana right now doing the Gustav wait and see

And as far as people in Louisiana are concerned

And I'm sure most would agree

McCain and Bush

Should both just stay out to sea.

Monday, September 1, 2008 06:24 AM

Maybe pentecostal Sarah Palin

Can prognosticate on that one...

Monday, September 1, 2008 06:41 AM

It's a little after 8:30 AM now

Land fall for Gustav is now expected to be around noon.

In about 3 and a half hours I figure we'll have a feel for the full force of this one...

Tuesday, September 2, 2008 10:49 AM

Well, my power was out for about 24 hours

And we got some heavy winds and some real hard rain showers. My AC just kicked on about half an hour ago, I think the contents of my fridge might still be good to go.

Mayor Nagin is telling New Orleans avacuees to wait, until an orderly return can be facilitated....Haven't heard much real news from the city of N.O., but here in Covington things are returning to full go.

Mother Nature, it seems have robbed McCain and Bush of a dramatic prop and backdrop, to sell their particular brand of fizzly soda pop, photo op.

Better luck next time boys...

Get back to your GOP convention, we've all had enough here' of the republican's preposterous pretentions.

Hurricane Gustav

Has just journeyed on past my home, and my electricity just returned about an hour ago. And now this good news about Obama above the magic theshold, is the best news I've heard since I invested in gold.

Tuesday, September 2, 2008 11:12 AM

The good new for me just having weathered the hurricane

Is that the damage was relatively minor

With no dramatic photo ops for either Bush or McCain.

Sarah Palin

Is gonna be like a two ton shop windown manankin tied around John McCain's neck...drop 'em in the ocean and see if they swim...this was supposed to be about about her, but has come around to be more about him.
