..."This isn’t about state intervention or interference with the freedom of the press, you jackanapes! Robert explained that in a way that even cognitively challenged individuals like you should be able to understand, Jay."

..."Self-serving attention whores like him should be figuratively flogged in the public square for what he’s done and for why he did it - not celebrated as some beacon of free speech or noble sentiment. He’s a creep, plain and simple, and he deserves much more than the minor slap on the wrist this interview represented for the month after month of screeching and wailing about Islamofascists!!! and Muslim Terror!!! on his blog and, to a lesser extent, in his magazine."

Well, Arthur, I guess Glenn was right afterall. Canada obviously doesn't need even a quasi-governmental commission to investigate this sort of thing because they have YOU!

Therefore, I am immediately firing off a twix to your Prime Minister to declare null and void any and all legislation, rules and/or regulations pertaining to this Hate Thought Commission and instruct him to contact you whenever the government of Canada requires an interpretation or opinion on the subject.

For my trouble, I will ask only that I be allowed to have an occasional beer with my several hoser friends in Newfoundland - Noofies, I believe they are called. Noofies wouldn't require me to sing "Hold that Tiger", I'm sure.

    Arthur, one final question......

    Are you always this obnoxious?

Jebbie typed: “Arthur, one final question......Are you always this obnoxious?”

"Jebbie, Your post was incomprehensible. Learn to type complete, sentient sentences. Then get back to me.

And yes, I'm always this obnoxious."

My post must not have been too awfully incomprehensible, Pussycat. You answered the question I asked.

    Nitie nite.

Ok, I have to admit that I'm extremely happy that this new subject has been raised.

I spent the entire day, yesterday, reading a thread which constantly made me think of the Log Cabin Republicans.

Bop, glad to see you back.

I am extremely gratified that at least one person caught it. :)

"Too many avenues for a gotcha upon the average individual."

Darlin, that's just so yesterday's thread.

    Please try to keep up.

"He refuses to be primarily identified by how he sexually gratifies himself."

So would I, if I were monosexual.

Well, at least I wouldn't admit it in public.

    You can call me Al.

"I think it will be MCCain and Romney fighting it out, although Huckabee is far from out of it."

I have a feeling that Huckabee put a stopper on the bottle of his own candidacy this weekend with his remarks about amending our Constitution to conform to the Bible.

That might fly in the Bible Belt but elsewhere, it's a third rail issue.

    IMO

I don't believe evolution/creationism is a realistic measure of how American's would react to a totally theocratic administration initiative involving amending the constitution and in anycase, without seeing the wording of the poll you present, along with demographical information, I'm not prepared to even accept it (the poll) as definitive on the subject.

If I were to guess, and this is merely a guess, I'd say most Americans (by far) probably believe in a combination of evolution and creationism.

"Maybe the next time he interviews McCain, he'll remember this on some level. And maybe not."

    Hopefully so.

I'm sure John King's heart was in the right place when he started his career. A nudge of the sort you gave him might, might be all he needs to remember why he got into journalism in the first place......and I doubt very much if his journalism professors spent much time telling him how to pass the canapes.

Maybe a One-On-One with Helen Thomas would remind him of what his job really is.

Are criticisms of the bar reserved as the special purview of lawyers?

Going back to your football analogy, should the fans (customers) of the Cleveland Browns remain silent when their team fails to make the playoffs for the umteenth season in a row or should they be allowed to make certain criticisms based solely upon their non-professional observations.

It would seem, Sir, that you believe only a reporter (or Journalism professor) should be allowed to critize John King.

Just for the record, Sir, as an experienced Journalist, how would you rate John King's performance based upon the interview Glenn used in the initial post on this subject?

"But his response raises a point that your reply dodges: what reporting did you do?"

Glenn reported on the lack of substance in John King's interview of a candidate for President of the United States (it doesn't matter who that candidate is). His report was factual, concise and apparently non-refutable.

    Doesn't that count?

    Welcome.
