Two positions

Permit me to repeat myself. There are only two available positions on abortion:

1) You are in favor of legal abortion.

2) You are in favor of illegal abortion.

As Tracy points out, there is not now, has not been since our ancestors developed minimal medical understanding, and will not be so long as there are unwanted pregnancies, a third position.

Original article: Quote of the day

One objection

Don't I remember correctly that the not quite 3,000 who were killed on 9/11 were the citizens of 44 different nations? It was, after all, the World Trade Center, and that was a big reason why the world was so willing to rally to our aid, before arrogance and greed made us an outcast.

Divide and conquer?

Isn't the recent Second Amendment decision an opportunity to split the gun nuts from the fetus worshipers?

On the question of the right of an individual to own a gun, the Supreme Court has ruled, it's settled, and it's time to move on.

On the question of the right of an individual to have an abortion, the Supreme Court has ruled, it's settled, and it's time to move on.

The FRC and their ilk are just going to have to settle for their certain knowledge that those of us who disagree with them are doomed to spend eternity in hell, and quit trying to give us hell here on earth.

Original article: Leave Bill Clinton alone!

Big Dog

Bill Clinton is still the only Democratic president ever to be reelected since the United States was eye-deep in a world war that (I will bet dollars against donuts) no one typing on this blog can remember.

It is not Bill's fault that his charisma sucks all the oxygen out of every room he enters, or that every sustible female on the planet tries to trip him and beat him to the floor.

Because Barry is the opposite of stupid (which blows him off some 40% of the American electorate), I will bet that, before November, we see him and Bill boosting the election of the second black President.

Hillary? What better liberal anchor in the Supreme Court?

Excuse me?

Doesn't the sign on the door say Department of JUSTICE?

For 7 years, the Bush team has been picking lawyers and placing judges on the basis of political loyalty, not competence.

Remember what Al Lewis said: We get the politicians we deserve.

Wrong answer

There is a certain amount of gut justice in giving the telcoms an excuse for relying on the President of the United States, since he is the President, after all, but isn't immunity the wrong answer?

Immunity deprives the injured party of any remedy, which is contrary to centuries of common law principles, which are ultimately based on gut justice.

The right answer is to give the telcoms a right of indemnity from the government upon which they relied. That would pass the obligation to pay damages to the parties who are really responsible for causing them, the voters who put these fools in office in the first place.

Or so my gut tells me.

Just askin'

How much did Obama's staff pay Jackson to drop this Sister Souljah bomb into the bunker of Faux News?

Brother act

On the brother front, don't forget Arkansas Rep. Asa Hutchinson who prosecuted Bill Clinton in the impeachment hearings while sharing an apartment with his brother, Sen. Tim, who sat in judgment.

Actually, it wasn't that much of a conflict, since everyone knew how Tim was going to vote before he ever heard any evidence.

Back in the Obama gaffe line

You heard it here first:

I just love quoting myself.

Of course

The Shi'ites are well in control, and are well supported by Iran, so it's time for us to get out and leave the oil control of the Mideast for the foreseeable future to them.

Mission accomplished.

Original article: The bikini theory

OK, fine.

The only question for any woman when it comes to any job should be "Can she do the work?" (Man, too, for that matter.)

When the job is wearing smoking hot red bikinis, Dame Helen can damned well do the work. More power to her.

Excuse me, but

"donating"?

Isn't it clear from the context that the present participle we're discussing should be "selling"?

Anyone but me?

Flash back to the link I'm too lazy to search for the life-size (and maybe more) uber-real plastic sex dolls with the flushable orfices? Or wonder why they're all apple-cheeked causasians?

What the hell, we're human, some of us sicker puppies in our pleasures than others of us, but if our sickness doesn't harm something living, that's almost a modern virtue.

As for Lulu and the more accepting btrader, I've looked twice and found nothing. If if annoys you to see broadsheet flashing her upper thighs at the passing cars of banner-ad click-throughs in order to nourish her blog-children, may I respectfully suggest that you man-up (or broad-up) to a premium membership? Works out to be about a dime a day to avoid annoyance, for those of us who visit regularly.

Wow?

When it comes to gold farming, do we not have a perfect inverse analog in the Spanish invasion of the New World that put King Charles in control of the Holy Roman Empire, and therefore earth and heaven, back in the 16th Century, back when globalization was powered by muscles, wind and gravity? (And stupid faith.)

Original article: McCain raises record cash

IQ test

We need an IQ test as a precondition to voting.

Anyone on the McCain donation list should fail.

Original article: More money, more problems

Money

Verily I say unto you; there is no one so foolish about money as a rich man.

Myself, I'm foolish about wine on a Friday evening, but the motivation to indulge is much the same.
