it's not your political placement on a left to right scale that invites the ad Hominems directed your way - it's your dishonesty, your cognitive dissonance, your mean-as-a-junk-yard-dog streak, your inability to reason with or recognize the validity of your sparring partners positions and your unwillingness to reach across the divide in a spirit of conciliation or cooperation.

I get a lot of insults thrown my way too..

Of course, I'm not much interested in conciliation or cooperation with those who intend to vote for someone who will continue the slide of the USA into what will eventually become a totalitarian corporatarchy.

As Glenn pointed out in another post, the US has been downgraded to the very lowest of the low; an endemic surveillance state. What do you think started this ever accelerating slide toward and now into a police state?

The drug war is what started the slide and what will continue the slide.

I'm single minded and obnoxious about putting my agenda forth. Yes I have an agenda, and so does everyone single person on our planet.

Glenn also pointed out that America is now and has been for some time not only the largest spender on the military in the world but also the largest incarcerator in the the world. Five percent of the people in the world live in America but fully twenty five percent of the prisoners in the world are in American prisons.

On another thread here on Salon I read several people's top ten lists of policies they wished to change or enact, ending the drug war didn't hit a single top ten list.

When even liberals don't care about literally hundreds of thousands of unjustly imprisoned citizens then the situation is truly hopeless.

I've been fighting this fight for well nigh twenty years now and I'm simultaneously enraged, exhausted and discouraged unto black depression by the utter refusal of virtually everyone I communicate with to see the necessity of ceasing to war on our own citizens.

Thrasher

Glenn obviously has an agenda...

Duh!!!!

Jeebus, you have an iron grip on the obvious.

Every sentient being on the planet has an agenda..

I have an agenda, you have an agenda and Glenn has an agenda.

The trick is to figure out who has what agenda and try to filter the information and rhetoric they provide in light of that agenda.

I only answer questions from those posters who are rational.

With rational defined of, course, as someone who agrees with you and pitches questions at you that you can reply to with your rote talking points.

I and most of the other posters have heard everything you have to say literally thousands of times before.. All we have to do is turn on an AM radio and we will be regaled with all your talking points 24/7/365..

Fascism in America began as a reaction by many of the wealthy and powerful industrial elite to FDR's reforms; it has taken fascism in America fifty years to recover from the reversals it suffered from the Great Depression and WWII. Its eventual success was presaged by the joining of the military-industrial complex with the Religious Right in the 1970's.

Take a look at this chart and you will see the results of that joining in the 1970's.

I like to call it Nixon's revenge.

What happened?

Seriously, no one can guess?

Who does the military industrial complex *and* the religious right hate the most?

Liberals...

And who is the most liberal of the liberals?

The DFH's

Along with the DFN's

And the DFJ's

Recall Nixon's conversation with Billy Graham..

You can deny the blatantly obvious as much as you want..

This one will really make you want to lose your dinner.

to point out the overuse of the criminal sanction wrt to the drug war.

*Any* use of criminal sanction WRT to private behavior which does not violate the rights of another is overuse.

These two questions started a major flame war on another site frequented by liberals.

Do you have a right not to be offended?

Why is public nudity illegal?

Warning, I seldom ask unloaded questions.

EVERYONE has an agenda...

Who among us does not have an agenda?

C'mon speak up.

I've been debating this for almost two decades now...

I know every argument, you can say nothing I haven't heard hundreds of time at least.

I'm off to bed, discuss amongst yourselves.

Do you have a right not to be offended?

If you take a dump in public and wipe your ass on my pant leg, yes.

That is offensive, but it also violates your rights.

See below:

Why is public nudity illegal?

Aside from not wanting to scare the little children, there is the issue of sanitation and public health.

Why should nudity scare children?

In terms of public health and sanitation, please explain the difference between a thong and being nude.

Warning, I seldom ask unloaded questions.

If I were you I would stop posing questions while loaded.

You don't do sarcasm very well..

Bottomline is, you are a radical lefty; you can't be expected to be a realistic judge of people's merits when their ideology and beliefs differ from yours - this blog is testament to that fact.
