The truth is you are just unwilling to allow that some folks give it a shot, are never really able to choke it down and would also say they "didn't (couldn't) inhale" when asked. For my part, I tried and could inhale (after some choking) and unfortunately or fortunately, depending on how you look at it, was able to do so more than a few times in my life. I had a sister that wanted to try it, so, when she was old enough, I sat her down and let her try. She tried and choked, gaged and didn't "inhale" in the sense that you and I know of. All it took was one toke -- she didn't like it and never did it again.

Agreed, there are *some* people who can't stomach it.. But they really aren't all that common in my extensive experience.

Clinton was no stranger to lying and I strongly suspect he was lying about not inhaling.

I have no proof but that is my opinion.

What an odd thing to say. Do you honestly believe in this kind of hyper-partisan behavior? Do you truly find it baffling that a good politician performing reasonably well at his duties in office should have broad appeal?

Clinton's appeal is not as broad as you might wish. There is roughly half the population that hates him with a burning passion. The percentage of CDS sufferers where I live is considerably higher than that where I live.

Among other things, Clinton signed NAFTA, about which Ross Perot was correct when he spoke of the "giant sucking sound" of jobs leaving the USA.

Why liberals should idolize "the best Republican president in decades" I have not a clue.

There is something not right about you. I wouldn't be surprised if you were "no stranger to lying" yourself. I call bullshit.

    Personal insults already?

    Wow, I'm impressed.

You can google Clinton's approval ratings. They went up during the impeachment. Only the pukes wanted that. The American people didn't. Kind of like Iraq.

I thought the impeachment was idiotic. Although you have to admit that the Republicans successfully poisoned the impeachment well for the foreseeable future. I'm really not sure if that is simply serendipitous for the Reps or whether it was planned.

Not to mention that Newt was having an open adulterous affair with Congressional aide Callista Bisek during the whole time he was overseeing the impeachment and the press knew all about it.

And yet the "liberal media" never reported on Newt's affair..

I wonder why that might be?

    Two more points:

Roughly half the country is Republican or leans Republican.

Back when Americans thought Operation Iraqi Liberation was going to be like the Gulf war, somewhere around 70% or so approved of the invasion.

It's only since it became clear that Iraq is a quagmire that popular support for the occupation has plummeted.

Here is an interesting video: Dick Ctheney displaying remarkable prognosticative powers in a 1994 inteview, actually uttering the word "quagmire".

Here's a question I can never get an answer for on conservative boards: Why did Ctheney have the US jump into the quagmire?

Am I missing something important here? Is there something I am missing?

It's fairly obvious that you have never been in the military.

If you would like to know how *real* military officers feel about torture and the current leadership of the military then I suggest you read this milblog:

    http://www.intel-dump.com/

The owner of the blog is a lawyer and military officer, I think you will find some of the most intelligent and informed commentary on things military that you have ever read.

You strongly implied that I am a liar.

    That is a personal insult.

If roughly half the country does not lean Republican then please explain the current occupant's second term..

Certainly I'm a propagandist, I have a point of view and I try to put forth my point of view.

But then so does everyone else posting on any political board, you included.

I get the impression that you like and agree somewhat with Mona.

Mona has stated that she agrees with me completely.

The reason that you are attacking me is obvious, I'm speaking truths which you find a very bitter pill to swallow.

I note that you have not disagreed with my main thesis, instead you are picking nits, hoping to distract from my main point.

  • My main point being of course..

[Read the article: Anonymous Liberal for Glenn Greenwald: Giuliani on torture]

That support for domestic torture is ubiquitous among the political class, both on the right and on the left.

The "liberal" politicians have found it expedient to ignore their supposed principles in favor of maintaining their personal power.

All governments suffer a recurring problem: Power attracts pathological personalities. It is not that power corrupts but that it is magnetic to the corruptible. Such people have a tendency to become drunk on violence, a condition to which they are quickly addicted. -Frank Herbert

See, you refuse to address my main thesis.

There is no doubt in my mind that if someone called you a liar then you would take that as an insult.

I note that you did not reply to my point about the current resident's winning the '04 election and how it indicates that roughly half the country leans Republican.

And yes, I know all about Diebold.

I predict that you will not respond rationally to any of my substantive statements.
