Like Camille I have monitored right wing talk raido for 20 years, during which time it took over and wrecked my country. It has always been such a transparent dirty tricks operation that it was originally staffed by many of Nixon's dirty tricks squad. By using such a Kmart forum, they were able to reach the great American redneck Bubbacracy which is so willfully ignorant it will revel in righist lies and catapult them like pigs in Zen.

The Annenberg School studied in depth right wing talk radio for 15 years, finding that it had duped 50 million listeners with utter "false certainty" on almost every issue, swinging the past 5 of 6 elections. It has not waned in the slightest and in fact will continue to roll over every progressive issue and candidate absent a total Perfect Storm of scandal, failed war and coming economic blowout as was seen in 06. Other countries have taken notice and now teach in their schools that willfully ignorant, racist American rednecks killed their own country by acting as witless dupes to rich corporate interests. Without these hick dupes, corporations could not rise to this level of power and completely decimate the middle class.

Listening closely to the one Dem challenge to talk radio rule, Air America, I heard many Dem Congressional leaders acknowledge these facts in toto and promise hearings if Congress was retaken in 06. Then they did absolutely nothing. Even the one remaining Dem FCC Commissioner pleaded with them to at least hold hearings to bring pressure on AM radio ownership, but all the right had to do was scream "Fairness Doctrine" and Dems folded like scared little girls. The issue is bringing sufficient pressure on ownership to bring some balance back to the public airwaves. This is not rocket science. By failing to do even this, the Dems sealed their own fate and there is literally no hope now as the right controls the frame and the debate itself.

The GOP's obsessive authoritarianism was catapulted when they duped 50-100 million American rednecks into the party using hot button issues like gay rights and abortion. I was raised by these know-nothings and their primary instinct is to obey (preferably them) and he/she who does not obey is ruthlessly bullied and even killed. In fact, Texas gives you a pretty good picture of what these people have to offer the country. JFK, LBJ and now Bush all exemplify the Texas and American redneck's view that the answer to anything is to KEEL IT!

I was just in Europe and the front page of one German newspaper examined the American redneck as the world's biggest circus freak. I guess you have to go out of the country to learn that our own Surgeon General reports that one-third of the population of red states is morbidly obese, something never heard of in the world before, since not even a pig will eat itself to death. I see this when I visit my hometown and the average weight is 300-500 pounds. You will often see these morbid monsters having to prop two restaurant chairs under their titanic waddlers. They blather on about what a good Christian George Bush is as they stuff 2-3 slices of pizza in their face at a time.

I remember when I was in college and we were watching the movie "Carrie" and a girl in my suite could not believe that there were actually people like Carrie's mother. I told here there were three on my block alone when I was growing up. So there you have it: homocidal, religious mentally ill, morbidly obese ignoramuses preening over what a good man George W. Bush is, the very death of America in all of its fat hideous glory.

Gingrich is only a symptom of the astounding stupidity of today's American, which has caused the world to write us off completely. In fact, the all-time "most trusted man in America," Walter Cronkite, declared our democracy dead after the 04 election due to the complete absence of critical reasoning capacity by the America voter, who voted for a nitwit they might like to have a beer with over the most overqualified candidate in history.

I watched this transpire with the rise of AM talk radio, where suddenly the willfully-ignorant rednecks I grew up with were carried on the airwaves and infected every region of the country with vile, know-nothing reactionary stupidity. Prodded by demonic rightist trickster hosts, this radio cohort grew over 15 years until the Annenberg School study found that 50 million talk radio listeners were duped with utter "false certainty" on every issue, swinging five of the past 6 elections. Suddenly the willful ignorance was being enforced by "radio jackboots" as RFKJr. calls them, bullying us into their war and total ruin.

As I watch these filthy rightist destroyers gear up to work their smears and ruin upon us again in this next election, I find that what is most notably missing is SHAMING them. In fact, in any other country in the world, they would be viciously shamed at every opportunity for what they have done to their nation. Instead, the few leftist milquetoasts who call into their 98% far right radio empire (in every major city and small town without exception) seem almost afraid to hint that these monsters have destroyed a country. And the witless Dem Congress didn't even make a feeble effort to pressure ownership to bring balance back to the airwaves, giving them further license.

Like the rest of the world, I have pretty much given up on my country. It is now up to a new generation and bloggers like Glenn to make one last effort to save us with a tidal wave that flushes the sewer.
