"I wish I were a white woman."
Word to that. Screw these privileged shrews and their nattering, persistent self-entitlement. The men and women behind PUMA do not care about the working poor, the right of women to choose, the right of homosexuals to be treated as equals under the law, the right of the average citizen to stand up corporate monoliths, the right for children to have a decent education and not be "taught the controversy".
That they cannot see that this burlesque show makes a mockery of civil rights, of the gains of suffrage, of feminism makes it all the more sad. But, feminism was never the goal from the start.
PUMA is devoted to electing John McCain. That is its sole raison d'etre. (I put it in French so the rethuglican trolls couldn't understand it).
Unbelievable. You people are out of your minds.
"I voted for ULEs in 68.. now I'm voting for McCain", hey, another baby boomer selling out their ideals (if they ever had them).
Is this a generational thing, the boomer's last gasp? Well, let me tell you what happens to Social Security if McCain wins: it goes away.
Now, I am more than happy to have that money for my generation. I'm not selling out my "1980s" values to take cash from the old coots that need it..
..Except my values are "ultra-liberal elite". Which means I have a distaste for Obama's move toward the imaginary, made up "center", but he's still better than the alternative. See, when I have a policy dispute, I work from within, not without, for change. That's me, being a responsible citizen.
Its disgusting for me to watch people my parent's age act like little brats. I have friends with small children better behaved than the crybaby tyrants of the "PUMA consciousness" zeitgeist.
Take your consciousness and shove it! Freedom of speech is all well and good, but at the end of the day most of what comes off the keyboards of the PUMA die-hards simply makes them sound like idiots. Free to be stupid, USA!
GAME OVER IS A STATEMENT OF FACT, NOT AN INSULT.
Should there be a roll call vote, in which Clinton releases (or doesn't release) her delegates? I don't care. If it makes you feel better, then fine.
Anyone planning on writing in her name in the fall is beyond irrational. That person is, frankly, an asshole.
Same for anyone planning on voting for McCain. Asshole.
Feeling the love yet?
Now, AKA Smith and others, if you truly feel that you cannot endorse Senator Obama in the fall, the Democratic Platform falls short of your ideas and you cast your vote for the Green Party in protest, that is your choice.
I contemplated voting for Nader in 2000, because I didn't like how Gore was distancing himself from the accomplishments of the Clinton Administration, and I didn't like his pick of Joe Lieberman and his extreme right-wing Zionist views (and strain of social conservatism).
But alone, in that booth, that fateful Tuesday in November I couldn't bring myself to do it. I could not effectively cast a vote for George W Bush.
I wish a lot more people felt like me at the time. For the parents of the dead, I wish that, for the devastated country of Iraq, I wish that.
That is why PUMA has one goal and one goal only: elect John McCain.
So, vote however you wish, it is your right. But if the image of Rush Limbaugh laughing his way to another Republican inauguration turns your stomach as much as it turns mine, you will do the right thing.
So, when I say that not supporting Obama is an irrational choice for any person left of Joe Lieberman (and some to the right), I mean it is irrational. If you feel that applies to you, well, please reconsider your choice this fall.
I can't be shipped off to war with my bad knee and eyesight. Can you? Can any of your children?
Do you want to die? Vote for McCain. Those are the stakes.
Fuck that. I am not paying for Clinton's campaign.
I'll give the money to any number of charities.. last month I gave $200 for Breast cancer research. My mom is a breast cancer survivor, and there is a good chance either one of my sisters could get it (I do not pry on their private medical testing, but I am sure they would tell me if they tested positive for a known cancer-causing gene).
Hillary Clinton and her $109 million dollar self-worth can SIT AND SPIN. Not one red penny of mine is going to relieve her debt.
Here's a list of charities that are worthy alternatives. If you want, you can write-in Senator Clinton's name:
http://www.aidsmarathon.com/
http://www.projectcare.org/
http://www.donorschoose.org/
http://www.accountabilitynowpac.com/
For relief on the part of displaced Iraqis in the war Senator Clinton voted to authorize:

Senator Obama asked for my help in retiring Senator Clinton's campaign debt. I declined. Next.
You charge the person with what you can make stick, and hold them for that while you work up a case on the bigger, harder to prove charges (criminal conspiracy to commit murder, for instance).
This is what's happening.
