  • RNC paying shills to spam left-leaning forums with opposition campaign

    Or click on my name.

The Republican National Committee appears ready to roll out the red carpet for Hillary Clinton supporters, over a newly-registered internet domain ClintonsForMcCain.com.

Though the web address does not yet go anywhere, the RNC registered the domain name on May 15, according to whois data from the registrar Network Solutions. That was nine days after Clinton's disappointing showing in the North Carolina primary, which prompted NBC's Tim Russert to declare the race effectively over for Clinton.

An e-mail to two RNC officials about their plans went unanswered Thursday.

The Republicans appear to be capitalizing on the bitter disappointment, anger and disillusionment that Clinton supporters are feeling right now. Much of it is on display on the web in the comments section on both Clinton's website, as well as that of presumptive Republican presidential nominee John McCain.

Many voters responding to Clinton's last e-mail blast, which was also posted on her blog this morning, said that they couldn't possibly vote for Barack Obama. Some of them said they would instead support his Republican rival.

That's despite Clinton saying in her note that she plans on rallying her supporters behind Obama this Saturday.

Click my name for the rest of the article.

Update: as I have pointed out, the RNC has figured out that Democrats are able to use "whois" (damn open-government, secret hating libruls!) and have since hid their registrations behind proxy registrars.

Guess Red GTI owes some car payments, since he's chicken-boning for the RNC along-side the Planter.

Does it hurt either of your bottom lines if the two of you are spamming the same forum?

I'm curious, how did you get involved? My guess is that both of you answered an ad in the back of your local daily. Ironic, then, that unemployment and desperation has driven you both to being paid town criers for a "concerned" RNC strategist.

I have read your previous posts. I see now that there is a person with feelings behind that over-used Control-V (or Shift-Insert, but Command-V I somehow doubt).

    So sorry, please forgive me!

No. Not buying it. If you aren't a paid shill, you are a clown. Either way, every time I see your stupid "Liberal Fascism" cut-n-paste job, I want to barf on my shoes.

You are no Democrat, that's for damn sure.

  • Whee..

There will be no enforcement of proscriptions against OT cross posting, double- posting and copy-n-paste postings because the Queen Masthead either doesn't care or is too incompetent to bring order to these forums.

I hope that by November we will have moved to a semi-moderated system, or at least deployed something that will prevent the same shit being posted over and over. I'm amazed that salon.com doesn't have a Recaptcha subscription yet, but will all the subscribers dropping en masse, I'm not totally shocked.

Anyway, a few hours worth of PHP should be sufficient to slow down the likes of red_gti2000, theplanner and others.

I'd send a request directly to Joan, but I have a feeling she doesn't much care for me.

  • Agreed..

The fightthesmears.com site made me scratch my head a little, you hit the nail on the head of what bothers me about it.

It should be more like snopes.com and less like.. political counter-spin. The brevity seems to be a nod to the adage "if you are explaining, you're loosing."

I've never much cared for that particular idea, and I'd like to see the Obama campaign turn that bit of conventional wisdom on its head.

The reason we have so many low-information voters is because politicians are afraid to get detailed. It is my hope that Obama doesn't fall prey to the trap of over-generalizing and pleasing no one rather than specifically addressing an issue point-by-point and putting off a few people with ADHD.

No one is arguing that Chris Matthews is not an idiot. You are dodging giving any examples of Keith Olbermann saying something like that.

How many times, in how many different ways do I need to ask?

  • Olbermann

[Read the article: Tin-eared at MSNBC]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Instead of writing him a letter, why don't I just direct his attention over here.

Nancy Bock managed to get a succinct and I think legitimate dig on Olbermann through over the din: some of his special comments are over-the-top, reactionary and shrill.

Now, that goes to all his comments in general, and no, I do not think sexism is a major player here. I agree with his assessment of the Clinton campaign's dirty tactics, and I was myself rightly infuriated by much of it.

So, that's something I think Olbermann would be well served to fix. And no, I think there's no harm in him (1) listening to what is being said about him and (2) having a chance to address it.

Perhaps Joan can take him to task, instead of writing cutesy little half-disingenuous attack pieces the two can talk it out like adults.

As for his idiot producer/boss who said "women will come back, they have no choice," fire the bastard. That really was a dumb thing to say. Except Olbermann didn't say it, so don't punish Olbermann for something he didn't say or do.

Clearly there is a real issue to be addressed here by the brass at MSNBC and they have a real, legitimate image problem. I have faith in Olbermann's intelligence and honesty that, if made aware of these issues, he will make amends.

And if you still can't stand him, well, its a free country.

Gore has done the world more good as a private citizen than a politician.

Maybe Clinton can take a page from his book.
