While there are those who may shudder with schoolmarmish dudgeon at such vulgarisms as "eedjit," they know not what they say. Some people, and their disordered thoughts, are quite simply unworthy of correct spelling.

My particular favorite example of this was when some cognitively deficient troll was so sweetly, innocently, lamebrained as to say, and I paraphrase out of laziness, "And you call me ignerrent, when you can't even spell it!"

From the department of self-defeating irony: Why would any RWA with two brain cells to rub together EVER post, in its devastating entiretly, the Aug. 6 PDB? Perhaps the most nauseating detail of the disastrous reign of Bush was that he responded to such a specific and alarming piece of intelligence by continuing to do anything but his job. Admittedly, given his rather embarrassing performance at his other "jobs" throughout his worthless life, it's rather uncharitable to expect such an unmitigated failure to rise to the occasion, but honestly, deliberate complicity would have at least shown some initiative.

After all, preventing hijackings are clearly a federal responsibility, and a simple measure of beefed-up airline security could have been accomplished with the stroke of a pen. Indeed, the visibility of such a move might have given the terrorists cold feet, or if not, the security measures might have netted some high-profile arrests, thereby casting a flattering light on his illegitimate, faltering presidency.

No so-called "antiterror" measures he has tried since has done half that much, and indeed have saddled us with more deserved opprobrium from friends and delighted ridicule from enemies than anyone could have imagined in those innocent times.

Keeping us safe? Give me a break.

All Bush cares about is the Enemy at Home, as his record makes startlingly plain, and everything he says and does enables, encourages, and emboldens actual terrorists.

Shooter, I'm obliged to point out to you that you are, completely uninvited, entering a space and just randomly taking bullying potshots at everyone there, for no apparent reason except that it seems to make you feel good. In normal human interaction, that's what bouncers are for. And restraining orders.

If you have anything to offer, would it be possible for you to behave in a slightly less obnoxious manner? We already know that you have some pretty strange ideas; why further discredit them by being such an asshole?

While it's obvious that you don't respect the humanity of those with whom you disagree, belittling and abusing them in such a poisonous and adolescent way reflects poorly on you and your arguments, whatever empowerment it brings you.

The subject here is whether or not we want to live in a Soviet-style police state, where a bloated, bankrupt, power-obsessed government exists only to stifle dissent, flex its military muscle, and cover up its many blunders and failings through torture, prisons, censorship, and kangaroo courts.

The Russians of old were smart enough to understand that Pravda was not to be believed, you, Shooter, are not. The vast majority of what you say is mindlessly repeated propaganda straight from other bullying authoritarians like Bush, Cheney, Limbaugh, O'Reilly, and on and on. In the interest of "balance," all the media dutifully repeat this BS, and we've all heard it elsewhere. The tiny fraction of "fresh" insight you bring to the table is some made-up faux technical horseshit about "data-mining" and "keyword searches," without any evidence or apparent understanding of what those might be, and abusive attacks on others for their lack of wealth, poor investments, and lives you find worthless and/or objectionable.

You do harbor some sympathy in your heart, admittedly. For corporations, the rich, torturers, spies, and powerful politicians who love them.

The Constitution, the Golden Rule, and yes, the Bible, would indeed indicate that one of us indeed needs to do "penance," but it isn't me.
