Bill O'Reilly should be arrested for conspiracy to commit murder.
I bet the murderer would describe himself as pro life.
The Doofus America? I don't know anyone, Dem of Repug who loves Dick Cheney. Seriously, did you pull this article out of your hiney?
Can he be arrested for treason?
I've noticed in my old age that circles of friends grow and shrink. I don't hang out with college friends. They're mostly spread all over the country. Right now I'm in the midst of a serious illness and may not live out the year. Facebook has been wonderful for me renewing some old friendships and making new ones. Being housebound or in the hospital makes it hard to do friend-things like have dinner parties or get together to play cards.
I've made some friends at church. I go to a very liberal church and found lots of people with the same sensibilities. It is also a pretty highly educated bunch of people so communication is lots of fun.
What have you done to increase your circle? Are you in a civic club, do you attend adult education classes or join reading groups at your local library?
Shut down your "rules" for people who are friends and just go make some.
As I listened to President Obama I thought how nice it is to have a president who is not mentally challenged.
For crying out loud people. Top Chef and I Like to Watch are not here to solve to problems of the world. To quote Gordon Ramsey, "light the fuck up!"
What a bunch of gits.
In 10 minutes, make a potato chip with the image of Jesus on it.
In 20 minutes, make a Dog's breakfast.
In 90 minutes make a cake shaped like the deficit.
Nope, not a new America. America was just covered up for the last 8 years. She's always been here.
Fugly. The whole thing, top to bottom. Fugly, old, mother-of-the-bride lookin', puke color, green glove. Fugly.
If you go to your high school reunion you're a loser. Grow up. Move on. If high school was the best time of your life you're a big, big loser.
I think Cary gives some good advice here. You're getting even more good ideas from others. Ideas I'm filing away for my own use. You're in a good position right now to do the right thing and that is to get your husband and his siblings working on your mom's behalf.
My husband is an only child and we know we're going to be taking care of his mom and most likely his aunt (her kids are beyond worthless but that's a whole other Springer show) and we're preparing for that now. We've set boundaries and we won't be manipulated.
I wish you all the best. I wish the best for your husband, his siblings and most of all their mother.
PJ O'Rourke was not as funny as I thought he was in the days of Nat'l Lampoon and I was staying baked half the time. And he is not as funny as he thinks he is now.
Ah sobriety! Gotta love it!
Well said!
Get over it. Move on. Cut the drama.
I had a double nephrectomy on Monday and woke up in the ICU when McCain was giving his concession speech. Was awake just long enough to say hooray. Glad I voted early this year.
Honey, just let it go. I'm a progressive liberal christian and I've learned to just let people be where they are. Who's problem is this? Hers. Treat her with the kindness and dignity and respect you want from her. That is all you can do. If your husband wants to play tug-of-war with her like this then that is on him. If she is unkind to you then just say, "that was unkind and doesn't help our relationship," then walk away. I know you want her to cut you some slack and you need to realize that just may never happen. If she is going to be passive aggressive and talk around you just stay above the fray. In the long run you, your husband and your children will be happier for it.
Now, get off my yard you whipper snapper!
