I'm glad you caught that post by Rollotomasi. I will check those links re: displacement
Robert Franklin,
I didn't see your post, but I saw Glenn's response. Perhaps Glenn doesn't cite Chomsky because Glenn is trying to remove partisan and ideological considerations (values) from his analysis. There is a German word I learned in college in the social sciences, wertfrei or value free. We can all agree that Chomsky has rather outspoken political views. I happen to share some of them, but if Glenn can make his case without citing Noam, we can all avoid the attack of the anti-Chomsky harpies.
And speaking of attacks... just because we have disagreements among us, sometimes very heated ones, it doesn't always mean those who disagree with us are trolls. Trolls exist, and they are a giant pain in the ass, but not everyone who thinks Glenn is wasting his time on this issue is a troll. Case in point: Shooter says go for it. Dismantle the MSM. As if that's what we are doing. Shooter just realized that he would look stupid defending what he calls "the donkey media" (because I clued him to it). So give the folks who disagree a little room to do so, they may just need more time and patience until they understand why this is as important as it is.
Off the soapbox.
It's a bit off topic, but perhaps we could discuss what your definition of anarchy is. I do not find anarchy easy to define but I choose to define it for myself. Anyone who would look for the definition of it in a book or a dictionary has no business calling themselves an anarchist.
You seem to eguate chaos with anarchy. That's not a legitimate equivalency. I do not think you are a troll, but you have a lot to learn. Stick around, you might learn something. But talk less and listen more.
I hope you caught what I posted about Chomsky. I may be wrong.
Poco,
Anarchy is the absence of a dominant or dominance hierarchy. Chaos is something else. Acephalous societies have a form of order. Since the advent of civilization there are fewer examples of them extant. There is a lot more war, however. That is chaos. It's also waged by dominance hierarchies.
The parasitic nature of [left wing] blogs vis a vis the media vs. the well documented by Glenn symbiotic nature of right wing blogs vis a vis the media ....
You might be pushing it a bit but you could have titled this post:
A beautiful mosaic of anti-[left-wing]blogger hatred
You will never be recognized by Time Magazine as the Blog of the Year.
I was only teasing you...
It may have been me under another name at UT, but I thought we had this debate. You get as thuggish as you feel. We are dealing with thugs, after all.
Uh, no.... I do believe in giving the devil his due, but I also believe in honi soit qui mal y pense. It's a difficult juggle, and occasionally seems to require a little of that old-fashioned scatological clarity.

Poco is a long time supporter of John Yoo.
I noticed 270 letters. Sysprog actually read through them.
He's not quite sharp enough to be a troll, though. Mothra? "Es muy loco!"
Yoo may be a monster
But sometimes it takes a monster to kill a monster. Just ask Mothra. Conversely, you could read a very intersting book about dealing with the criminally insane, called Killing Pablo. Right now, our enemy is Pablo.

Beware the homonculus.
PBS' Jim Leher: "You don't assume the president is lying."
http://www.poynter.org/column.asp?id=45&aid=122978
Only an idiot would assume a President is telling the truth.
With this president, it's a no brainer that he never has told the truth.
So, as a cynic, I trust no one whether they are Arianna Huffington, or the president.
To the other commenter,
I read Mark Kleiman's post. I'm unimpressed and unconvinced. It reminds me of a Jonathan Alter's post without the vitriol.
If you are a reporter talking to another reporter and making jokes, you aren't too bright, unless you happen to think the reporter you are talking to, and the outfit he works for, are perhaps not to be taken seriously. Sounds a bit elitist, doesn't it.
Shooter,
Even you will wear out your welcome. We need to keep one of you around. Please try harder.
If I were you, I tend to your own camp.
Rudy: "Sometimes I disagree with myself."
It's healthy to disagree with others. It's not healthy to disagree with yourself, and if you'd been paying attention, Glenn and others have been doing an excellent job of illustrating how this is the "neocon condition". Everyone agrees with "Dear Leader" but "Dear Leader" never agrees with himself. Enjoy the wilderness. If you stick around here, it's the "rubber room" for you.
They're old-fashioned country club Republicans.
I keep harping on this but the Overton Window has been pushed so far to the right that Bill Clinton was, for all intents and purposes, an old fashioned "country club" Republican that they wouldn't grant a membership to. He snuck in anyway and they claimed "he trashed the place" and then they tried to throw him out.
