I'm not sure I meant the dual objectives in the way you think. I'm just talking about the Iraq situation, not general domestic or international dominance. Of course, they sought dominance all along, as it is in their nature not just to win and succeed, but to eradicate opposition completely.
To achieve the global military dominance (empire), they must first achieve domestic political dominance over those who espouse Svensker's excellent restatement of the founders' intent wrt to foreign policy. If they were as effective at the former as they have been at the latter, this might all be moot.
They sound like Jacobins and totalitarians and Trotskyites, don't they?
Perhaps we need a Sen. McCarthy to convene a HUAC... maybe not.
To me, the most amazing aspect about the last five years is how dramatically perceptions of Bush, the GOP, and the Iraq War have shifted.
When you tend to "over-estimate" (exaggerate) threats (internal or external) for political reasons rather than assessing them realistically, maybe everything tends to look bigger than it really is through that lens...
I think it's a backhanded, begrudging compliment to Glenn. he's an evolved, intelligent and sentient, (if hateful), organism. It refers to the...
Triune brain
The triune brain is a model proposed by Paul D. MacLean to explain the function of traces of evolution existing in the structure of the human brain. The triune brain consists of the R-complex, the limbic system, and the neocortex.
The R-complex, comprising the brain stem and cerebellum, is similar to the reptilian brain in that it controls basic, instinctive survival behavior and thinking. The limbic system, which he first introduced in a paper in 1952, is similar to the brain of lower mammals and is the source of emotions, some aspects of personal identity, and some memory functions. The limbic system comprises the amygdala, the hypothalamus, and the hippocampus. The neocortex, also known as the cerebral cortex, is similar to the brain of higher mammals and controls higher-order thinking skills, reason and speech.
MacLean's research argues that most human behavior is the result of cooperation between the three systems of the brain. However, as the hypothesis conceives the brain as a system consisting of three subsystems, all of which originated from separate points of evolutionary history, the systems are therefore not in a state of perfect equilibrium, since they actually are three relatively independent systems constituting a bigger one.

As you are obviously aware, Shooter is a professional troll, Lab2112 is a rank amateur.
I am glad you are not a Randian. After I thought about it, I realized it was highly unlikely you would be. At least you read the book. I couldn't get past the first chapter and took Ms. Parker's advice with a vengeance.
Just like "global warming"? Heh.

More "leftist tree huggers" (like Zinni) are Generals than we ever knew. Who knew?
US generals urge climate actionThe US has refused to join an international treaty to cut emissions
Former US military leaders have called on the Bush administration to make major cuts in greenhouse gas emissions.
In a report, they say global warming poses a serious threat to national security, as the US could be drawn into wars over water and other conflicts.

You know I love that kind of talk, but if this whole mess has taught us anything, it's that regime change is not to be undertaken likely. Suppose the Constitution Party (Peroutka, who thinks that the constitution is just an addendum to the Bible) takes their place. And we are stuck with this two party system, (see Duverger's Law), and probaly the polarization. I would rather we try to get them to move back to the center. We need to realign this country politically. It's way off balance. Or make it possible for third parties to become viable. If we were a washing machine, the whole house would be shaking.
Likely? Lightly, or was that... nevermind
Ms. Powe,
Have you ever considered starting your own blog? It's free. And easy to do. You should.

I also think -- TJ1111 made some excellent points worthy of mention.
I was wondering that same thing today, Paul.
Shooter is...
... a running comedian.
His jokes are so bad the audience has chased him out of the house and down the street.
I'd be happy to let the Democrats be recognized as the centrist party they are and split into the Scoop Jackson (Sen Boeing)/Joe Lieberman fringe wing on the right, and see those with a healthy mistrust of the MIC dominate the party. Let the Greens and the ALP represent the true left and right. That'll work.
In a 4th-grade textbook to be pubished in the next couple of years, you'll find the following answers in the teacher's edition: 1) "What event began the war on terrorism? (The terrorist attack of September 11, 2001.)" 2) "Why were American troops sent to Iraq and Afghanistan? (The leaders of these countries are believed to help terrorists.)"
Do you recall the publisher and do you have any idea where, it will be marketed, such as Texas or California?
If we have that problem in HS level texts I would really be concerned but I am sufficiently concerned as it is.
