Original article: Libby spared the clink

Hornet

Yep, Marc Rich. Sure. Of course, Bush Sr. pardoned drug dealers when he left office, where's your outrage about that? Oh, I'm sorry, we're not allowed to play "but his predecessor did it?" Then shut up about Clinton. I know you and your Right Wing buddies are all jealous that they weren't the ones giving Clinton the blow job, but Clinton's not in the White House any more, let it go! Try to find some outrage over the current resident of the White House essentially stating that he has no use for the rule of law. Neither Clinton's pardons nor Bush Sr.'s were as bad as this. Bush pardoned a man convicted of perjury. This crime was committed to cover up criminal acts by the White House.

The other's pardons weren't good. This pardon is a reward for covering up the criminal acts of this administration. I don't expect this post to really have any effect on you as Rush won't be able to tell you what to think about it. I am, however an optimist and hope that perhaps there's a tiny part of your tiny brain that can still think on its own. Give it a shot, huh?

Original article: "It is my judgment"

Unwilling to "negotiate" with terrorists

Isn't that cute. You think China wasn't equipped to fight a global nuclear war before that. You're one of those people who's brains can only hold 2 or 3 facts at a time, aren't you? Are you actually scared that China intends to use space for a nuclear arsenal? See a shrink. No, really. You have paranoia issues. Also, go look up the list of pardons Reagan and W's daddy did. If you have any honesty at all (likely not, but there's always a chance), you'll be far more horrified than at Clinton's list.

The first impeachment

Needs to be of Scalia. He's exhibited recurring instances of failure to reuse himself when he had a personal interest in the outcome of a case. This violates the legal ethical code of conduct and is grouds for the impeachment of a judge.

"I have so many facts that prove"

Sure you do. You should remember to take your medication at the same time every day. And take every pill your psychiatrist has told you to take. Just because you feel better for awhile, it doesn't mean you don't need your medication any more.

Gary Owen, Goedel, and I'm sure others

Good for you. Piss all over the legacy of civil rights and the great society because of Vietnam. Sure things are better in American because of Johnson, but who cares! He made a mistake! He wasn't prefect. Yes, he kept us involved in Vietnam and escallated it to a full fledged war, but every account I've read shows he agonized over it. He didn't run in 1968 because of it. And that brought us good old Red-Baiting, HUAC member, Richard, Milhouse "Watergate" Nixon. Wooo! Good thing Johnson left office.

You remember Nixon, the guy who gave many of the criminals in the current administration their start? The guy who's "Imperial Presidency" is part of the ideological basis for W's Court of Crime?

Yes, Vietnam was wrong, yes it was a tragedy. Unlike Bush, Johnson did a TON of good in his time in public service as well as Vietnam. And Vietnam was a much more complicated and complex issue than is Iraq. Painting it as one-dimensional as you do shows a great lack of understanding of the era, even if you did live through it.

Original article: When Republicans attack

Just showing how republicans don't actually understand anything at all

Do they not know what "conservative" means? Democrats are the Old Way? Wouldn't that make his base far more likely to vote for them?

Give a Republican any topic at all and you can be sure they'll be wrong about it.

The reason people seem to hate Farhad is nicely summed up by the letter following yours by jakerome. He purports to be a tach writer, but doesn't seem to understand or know the technological world. He pissed a great many people off a few years ago by writing article after article insisting that tocuhscreen voting machines are perfectly fine and that there's no discrepencies anywhere at all and we should all just trust the election results 'cause the winners said they're fine.

I'm actually pleased he now has a blog instead of being a feature writer. This way I can read him. I just look at him as an everyday person who isn't very good with technology writing about how tech affects him. I don't expect him to get the details right, 'cause often he doesn't. I do expect him to write far more about his personal experiences and feelings instead of technical analysis and he does. I expect him to be blindsided by advertising and trends, like Apple products and he is.

If you read him this way and take his "technical expertise" with a grain of salt, like the kid that can set up grandma's computer out of the box, but couldn't swap out the video card to save his soul, then he can actually be an interesting read.

Excellent!

You've done well Gary. If Heffalump (Elephantman) thinks it is a bad idea, you must have it right.

Quite seriously though, the only way to affect terrorism is through policework and by ceasing to provoke.

Original article: Three Stooges strategery

Republican "Thinking"

This illustrates it very well. Can you imagine the screaming that'd be going on if they'd used the "nuclear" option before? If fillibuster and cloture were no longer allowed? They don't think anything will ever change. They can't see beyond tomorrow and sometimes beyond today. These people have no place in government, they're a bunch of spoiled children who were raised badly. Heck, most of them know it. That's probably why they're always off with prostitutes and mistresses getting spankings.
