An old Republican lie, 2008 version!

Remember when W and his people first took the White House? They started claiming that Clinton's people vandalized the place right down to popping the W off computer keyboards. Of course, it turns out they were lying and nothing of the sort happened.

Republicans have to lie, it is in their blood.

Perfect Storm

If everything goes right and the "leaning republican" states also go Dem, they'll have 62 seats and can still drop Senator Droopy.

Don't forget MS and KY

Both Republicans are only barely ahead.

Heffalump

McCain and Palin have not encouraged any threats against Obama, and they have condemend any threats such as there may have been, although it is hard to determine if any such threats have ever really been made.

So you won't mind if I call you a terrorist then? Of course, you're an anonymous nobody so that shouldn't hurt. Surely falsely identifying a powerful public figure as an anti-American terrorist could never be construed as encouraging threats. I'm sure that lyning and saying he's part of a religious group you know your listeners hate couldn't be encouraging threats. No-one has ever acted violently because of religion, have they? And I'm sure equating that person with Osama binLaden couldn't possibly be considered to be inciting anything.

BTW, you in the market for a bridge? I've got a doozy for you.

ACORN's record of voter registration now has them as the subject of criminal or regulatory investigations in about a dozen states, with the FBI now reportedly involved in investigating the group.

Since you persist in pressing this, are you seriously stating here that even deliberate falsification of voting registrations is the moral equivalent of threatening to assasinate a presidential candidate? Surely you're not that morally bankrupt.

any serious-minded person would complain about perfectly legal Republican poll-watching as causing procedural problems within the system.

Ah, but Republican poll-watching is intended to intimidate voters they believe are demographically more likely to vote Democratic.

In other words, ACORN is submitting screwed-up documents at about 300 times the rate of other voter-registration organizations

Oh no! They're inefficient and screw up! Sounds like a lot of companies. Heck there are lots of those getting billions from the government right now. And these are just registration cards. No-one is trying to vote on them and ACORN pointed out most of the ones it thought to be screwed-up when it turned them in. You go find some systemic evidence of voter fraud and then the Republican poll-watching might make some sense. As it is, it is just another example of Republican thuggery and of spending the public purse into debt to persue their own political ends.

Elephantman

Leaving aside your inane equating of falsifying a registration form with makeing a death threat about a presidential candidate, the ACORN registrations that were likely not valid were sorted out and pointed out by ACORN when they were turned in. McCain and Palin encourage anger and rage at their rallies and do and say nothing to stop it.

So what's the difference? ACORN works to stop the problems, McCain/Palin encourage them.

Yes, how dare they print anything bad about McCain or Palin after he had them all to his barbeques! "Obama-worshipping press", what a joke. You're just pissed they're not all falling in line, afraid of being called "liberal" this time.

Even if this were completely fabricated, and I don't think it was, these reporters would still be head and shoulders above your beloved Fox & Limbaugh.

Volatility

UPDATE: Lesson number 47 in why one should always be cautious with intra-day market updates. An hour and a half after this post was published, the Dow had moved back into positive territory.

And now it is back to 100 down.

Secret Service

The Secret Service should be attending these rallies and arresting anyone that yells this. They should be held for questioning.

If anything were to happen to Obama and it were shown one of these people was responsible, McCain, Palin and their campaign managers should be held responsible for incitement.

Elephantman (Heffalump)

Should we be asking Republicans those same questions? Especially since the charity board Obama was on with Ayers was bankrolled by Republicans who have since endorsed McCain? Why are these prominant Republicans funding charities associaetd with a known former terrorist?

In addition

Mr. McCain, you were once bought and paid for by convicted felon Charles Keating and lobbied on his behalf to enact policies that directly led to the Savings and Loan scandal of the late 1980s, a scandal that is quite similar in its causes to the economic meltdown going on today.

Tell us exactly why anyone should trust you on economic matters now?

All hail Charles Keating.

Obama associated with Ayers after Ayers reformed and was working on improving his neighborhood.

McCain was committing crimes with and for Charles Keating.

McCain is directly responsible for the same kind of financial crisis we're going through now. He helped create the Savings & Loan scandal of the late 80s/early 90s. You know, the one Neil Bush (George's brother) was at the heart of?

After Palin's treatment

You mean her treatments for mental instability? 'cause her treatment in the media has been very gentle. She couldn't even stand up to that and they haven't pushed her very hard when she showed she had no idea what she was talking about. You can't be talking about that treatment.

You're right. McCain has pivoted. He's now on his way to scoring an "own goal".
