Go Pack Go!
[Read the article: Me and Mr. Bonds]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Frederick,
If you want to root for a team that is still about the community instead of a corporation, you should be rooting for the Packers. They're community owned and there's a poison pill in their setup that prevents anyone from profiting if the team is sold. They've been where they are since the NFL started and they aren't headed anywhere.
As for minor league teams, they move too. Or at least change allegience. The Columbus Clippers used to be the Pirates farm team. Now they're the Yankees farm team. That's not the only time they changed either. And in the end, they're all beholden to the corporate major league teams above them.

Here we go again
[Read the article: State of the unions]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I'm so glad that republicans are out there saving us from the horrors of interfaith marriage. Wait... lost that one? Oh, then at least they don't let people of different races marry! Wait... lost that one too? Huh. Well I suppose all we have left is to prevent gays from marrying or any consenting adults will be able to marry! The horror! We must "protect marriage" at all costs! What do you mean the divorce rate is around 50%? That's fine, that's an honored tradition of marriage! By "protect" republican's naturally mean "restrict". How can something be important if you can't lord it over others?

Indy vs Denver
[Read the article: King Kaufman's Sports Daily]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]You said that Indy losing will be the end of undefeated records except your WTH pick record. I hate to tell you, but if your WTH record stays perfect then so does Chicago at 7-0.

Paglia
[Read the article: Salon Interview: Camille Paglia]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]by my own party
Why do you continue to let her pretend to be a liberal? She's one of the idiot conservatives that run around the country pretending to be a liberal so they can attack the Democrats from the "inside".
Please stop puclishing interviews with her. I'm very pleased there aren't articles by her here any more.
I have a feeling she and Coulter are good friends that hang out and laugh about what they get away with.

AC
[Read the article: White House: Kerry insulted the troops. Kerry: No, I insulted Bush]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]You think the country dodged a bullet? Shame the dodge was into the path of a tank shell.

Mr. Shapiro
[Read the article: Ohio's not-so-mean Jean Schmidt]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]If that really is you responding the response was very funny indeed. Spelling your name wrong at the end was great. Thanks for the laugh in the midst of election anxiety.

Wife
[Read the article: The GOP's dwindling anti-gay parade]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Poco, you're just reding it wrong. Where does it say "wife" has to be female? That's just what you're used to. Perhaps it simple means "the one you marry". Think of it that way and you'll have no problem with gay marriage.
And since your reasons only apply to Christians and there are fewer of them every year, the problem will go away eventually anyway.

Other responses
[Read the article: Is lunch a date?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Why in the world do you think someone looking for advice would take you seriously when you sign yourself "Ben Dover"? Maturity of a 10 year old? Sure, just the person to advise me about relationships!
I have plenty of female friends and I've dated one or two. Most of the rest are married or are indeed jut friends. It really is sad that you still have the 10 year old "girls are icky" mentality unless your hormones are pushing you to talk to them.
As for the letter writer who signed himself "with free advice you get what you pay for"
Not only is yours free, it wasn't even solicited. Hell, you should be paying us to read your angry nonsense. Why so hostile? Did this happen to you recently and you're still angry? That's a shame. Of course, by displaying your anger here, you make me a little embarrased for you.

Hole
[Read the article: The people vs. Courtney Love]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Hole was a decent punk band. They weren't great, but certainly worth listening to. Courntey Love herself was certainly punk, despite people here complaining that she had plastic surgery and wore fancy clothes. Punk isn't about conformity and a uniform, it is about doing whatever the hell you want and screw what others think, especially those in charge. If you think that's not Courtney Love then you're not paying attention.
Most of the complaints here seem to revolve around her acting like a rock 'n' roll star. If she were male, no-one would even notice. The Rolling Stones alone have likely been responsible for more screwed up, destructive behavior than what she's accused of and now they're playing the Superbowl. Face it, calling her a whore, saying she's no good, claiming she didn't write any of her own songs, it is all nonsense. It is the pathetic mewling of threatened men. Brightstar65 listing Avril Lavigne as someone who writes all her own stuff is funny. Listing Madonna as someone better than Courtney is funny too, but in a different way. When Madonna was younger, and to an extent to this very day, she's accused of nearly everything Courtney is accused of in the letters here. She was a slut, a whore, she wasn't authentic, she was famous for being famous more than for her music, she wasn't any good, etc...
It is also amusing that brightstar65 can't be bothered to learn the names of "The chick from Garbage" (Shirley Manson) and "The girl from Evanescence" even as he tried to hold them up as being more worthy. Most of the people on his list are far less threatening than a real Punker. You want some women that are punks that belong in a list as better musicians than Courtney Love?
Roxy Epoxy
Siouxsie Sioux
Polly Styrine
Annie, Sturgeon and Suzy from the Soviettes
Carrie Brownstein, Corin Tucker and Janet Weiss from Sleater Kinney
Kim Shattuck
Naoko Yamano, Atsuko Yamano and Michie Nakatani from Shonen Knife
Amy, Marlene and Mayuko of the Gore Gore Girls
and the list goes on and on.
But you stick to Carole King and Faith Hill and pretend that that's as daring as women can be.

[Read more letters about this article: Here]Give a listen to the song Courtney Love by Nerf Herder. Pretty funny and sums up her image pretty well.
