...and the night our ("change") music died is aptly demonstrated by the BOH campaign lies for open government you have shown to be the farce/pox on all of us.
The "creep", Glenn you speak of must be now be fully disclosed-- the ever so slow progress forward of describable, political and disfigured trolls within the presidency.
not intentional, I'm sure.
Dare any politician question the motives of the greatest PR establishment of truth-less integrity--our armed forces behavior.
They may spin their false patriotic missions time and time again with reckless impunity with tax payers cheering them on.
What an ingenuous mechanism for any state--that of blind obedience to a faultless god of hedonistic blood thirst.
The flaccid excuse of preventing harm to the morale or stoking anger toward the troops is as false as the recruiters deception of promising your blood will be spilt for your country and not a thousand companies making money off your misfortune to die.
What Glenn establishes with ample proof confirms what most protesters for free speech, balanced military spending, surveillance constraint, corporate accountability without unchecked profiteering at consumers' expense and the rest of status quo maladies--
already knew--
you are on lists tied/connected to other lists that were and are flagged. Therefore, the "appropriate" higher government agencies connected with other lesser "law enforcement" entities feel perfectly comfortable using any minute data bits on you if you happen to believe, for instance, that discussions with church members on Wednesday nights about the impending war of choice and its morality, prudence or motivation should go unchallenged.
The 21st Century of Bush/Obama believe in the greatest technology on earth to infiltrate and scourge the rabble of too few politicians and citizens that would implicate the state in its magnifold lies.
Russ F., you are the gem of American heroics for asking the right questions of AG's that defend their lies with more lies.
and Glenn, you are significantly lauded for addressing the fallen members that fail to join him.
ACLU- ALL COMMUNISTS LEAVE US
Always seems to be the tired mantra from this ilk. They do indeed show their disgust for-- "justice for all" (for those under the former American tradition and law).
Incidentally, the false fear of trying these alleged conspirators of terrorism in the federal court system (sans military tribunals) illustrates the extent to which hyperbole and hypocrisy are tools the right employs well.
"The extreme secrecy of the federal courts" GG
...which only reemphasizes what a sham these proceedings will be in any American-controlled-judicial proceedings military or federal system.
If Glenn is correct in enumerating all the ways intelligence "secrets" that the US employs be kept from disclosure, then what use are these trials other than to protect the other criminals involved in torture, illegal surveillance, evidence destruction and the like?
Add Obama, Holter and current enablers to the list of violators of true jurisprudence like Bush, Cheney, Gonzales, Tenet and other follow-the-law-as-we-define-it-for-our-convenience.
It gives true patriots of the American ideal (fantasy) of exceptional-ism to know that that within our (rightist federal courts)that whatever laws our government/military chooses to ignore are protected by slathering more secrets and thicker blankets to cover our lies.
(if there will be no money anymore - to spent on bombs and drones)
Ah, bombs and drones are good for you. They keep the economy healthy, infused with an endless supply of mysterious money manufactured in the darkest regions of warfare fantasy, don't you know?
The healthy speculation on all issues (including "Phil Carter's resignation from key detainee policy post" typifies clear thinking of those persons who can connect the dots while not endorsing rampant deductions.
Perhaps speculating more on what really motivated the war-on-terror catastrophic upheaval of our laws and republic would have served the Americans better post 9-11.
Don't we get dizzy with the wash, rinse, and repeat mode that Americans accept as prudent remedy for uncovering any past malfeasance/mystery of what could have possibly gone wrong with any number of our "missteps".
Whether its the British or the typical American solution of investigating after the fact--it smells the same. Parties, administrations and parliaments love the faux anguish of scurrying around acting remorseful about their selfish actions and deluding too many into complacency that real reform and justice will ensue.
Thankfully at least the British government is investigating the run up to the Iraq war. If only this country would do the same.
