bachelard

"It's a Small World After All" to the tune of "Greensleeves", "Nights in White Satin" and any other tune one can steal to make melody out of tragedy.

East to West and she thought the sky chief of letters (or you) would not see the blatant robbery of 3000 words, eh? Incredible example.

Our condolences and fears you are not alone.

Ya Ripped the Dirty Rags Off Those Escalating Crowds of Centalized Dems and Found Them Naked

Amazing how people of any political color are slaves to their-- the-world-will-be-as-I-need-it-to-seem.

Consensus may come and go, but the tide of tribal allegiance will win out every time. You full-fledged hope-is-in-the-new-Obama-Dem-revolution, could you think far enough ahead to see there is a shell game being played in front of you, but the carny guy is the only one not wearing the blindfolds.

@wbgonne

"Obama intends to fight Islamic terrorism and to protect the United States."

I know. It's in the Constitution and if I can't find it there, it must be in the scriptures or thus saith the interpreters of holy wisdom.

After he intends, I wish President Obama really protected our sovereignty as individual citizens--those protected from overzealous warriors routing out foreign enemies hiding behind every "bush".

Charles K. on WJ (c-span) this morning--

His new word for Obama's ideology--he's a "leveler" (wants to bring all the classes to the same level).

The new word for centrist thinking--they're levelers.

As the radical thinking of neo-conservatism is taking hold within the compromising left, the columnist aforementioned would be pleased to have this consensus, but without the economic disparities reformed.

@lahcar

"We already know what they're going to be; a bunch of naked Muslims being beaten or humiliated."

Like a bunch of extremist survivalist-type patriots rounded up by a "law and order" FDR, Obama, Clinton, (fill in presidents and AG's) to ensure the safety and order of all citizens?

How bout stacking a few extremist funny looking/sounding, questionable origin, ethnic individuals with funny names on top of floating logs coursing down the Columbia.

God, I love these playful, high school games.

@phil-s

You might be correct. What better way for the right to neutralize/dilute the effects of the last election than to over-supply the Dem electorate with enough repubs?

I had a bad feeling when Lieberman sold out to Bush, Cheney and Mccain, but I'm petrified about the damage Specter will do and particularly the full effect of your speculation.

Real Danger

If justice is ever served in the form of key GWOT warriors in the Bush Admin. having to serve time for the consequences of their blatant lies, trumped up intelligence reports, and general misuse of government agencies/information to instill fear and ignorance among the populace then--

I just might fear that the likes of Cheney, Hayden, Hannity, Limbaugh, Gonzales and the 100's others from the 9-11-gets-you-the-trifecta era will escape from the dungeon where they belong and eviscerate me in my bed because it will make America safer.

The terrorists within are here and they're the leftovers from our worst nightmare (aka we-fighters-of-evildoers-are-real-patriots-don't-you-know-eight-years-and-counting)

@humungous

"...nothing more than a smear campaign."

Sneer campaign or "smear campaign". That Joker guy (J. Nicholson are you listening?) wipe that grin off your face.

The "smear campaign(s" of Chuck Colson, Atwater and Rove have made America the envy of every fair-election-challenged despot in the world.

Otherwise, your on point comment is recognized valid by all characters in comics and politics.

@Paul Dirks

"There are people, who are to this day plotting to kill Americans en masse."

Then there are the sophisticated, highly-technologized "democracies" like (America/Israel) plotting to kill terrorists while they collaterally kill civilians in the thousands saying, "Oops, we got to do better next time."

The "kill(ing) Americans en masse" gets us all frightened and revenge-like, as the wording and appeal to justice will. We've got the corporate suits and field gear--they've got the donkeys, turbans and fleeing chieftains, if you will.

To Answer Glenn's Rhetorical--"Terrorists in Prison: is there anything the Right doesn't fear?"

Adding to their list of fears: authoritarianism in the form of SC Justices who they prognosticated would vote "correctly" on their pet issues (gay marriage, abortion, corporate fidelity, election laws, etc.)

The "right" fears their confirmed justices will morph into a Souter moderate as much as lefties tremble at the thought of Cheney (Vader) getting to crawl into the dark box with them, buck naked and sweaty during their "enhanced interrogation".

@redalert88-Par excellance snarky supreme

Your encapsulated, snarky description of what it means to live within the mind of what Obama politically cost him points- "They cling to their guns and God", a phrase too truthful to withstand obvious scrutiny.

Nothing strikes fear in the hearts more when God (Messiah Obama) wanting to take your guns AND god away from you.

So say all the rural western PA voters and NRA paintballers in America clenching their Bibles and guns with the same ferocity as a Roman centurion banging nails through a bloody wrist.

That's a fear I don't want to visit.

NOB--the star of Right thinking

Your list is just a beginning to be sure.

#1033-

The right, emphatically, most certainly, unequivocally maintains that it doesn't fear their elected leader of the Republican party (Mr. Steele) will surmount their devotion to the real leader--Mr. Limbaugh.

Thursday, May 21, 2009 07:02 AM

And Thus--"Hailing the leader as a War President"...

from which comes forth all manner of evil that we (a supposedly honored republic) have dismantled for the sake of mostly men with a adolescent need to prove their manliness.

"War Presidents" are mascots for the tragic games of foot-missiles and base-bombs they love to throw.

You, Glenn have scraped open the sore of all boils that is the pestilence I call the GWOT universe of all rationalizations.

@sonofloud

...as the neo-cons meant it to be.

Boy, the Americans who got on board that train have got to be the poster children for doorknob mechanics.

"bows and arrows"--Shooter242

Those days of yore when Robin and his merry men made merry with the carnage they perpetrated upon that evil Sheriff of Nots&Ham.

I fear we (America) will run out of excuses to rid the world of those evil-doers if you should stop making such good sense.
