totally agree with your comments on the underrated, very listenable Johnson-Elmore team whose broadcasts were models of economy and incisivness.
After seeing nearly all of the first season of the revived Doctor Who, including the finale, I think the new version is superb and Christopher Eccleston certainly the best Doctor since Tom Baker and possibly the best ever -
i'm only sorry he decided to leave after one season. Ms H. is entitled to her opinion, but in the interest of accuracy , I might note that, if I recall the Doctor backstory correctly, he is not twice as old as Rose; more like 35-40 times older - an age difference which shouldn't bother an old Buffy fan. (I think Eccleston was 41 and Billy Piper 23 when the series was shot.)
