Palin

I find her neither attractive nor sexy. To each his own, I guess.

Personally

I think Christmas sucks. I have a memory of having liked it at one time, but over the years it all seems so desperate. It's good for the kids, but I see absolutely no reason for adults to celebrate it.

Original article: Can populism be liberal?

As bad as the Democrats

are, they are still miles better than the Republicans, and it was ever thus. I am 51 and I do not remember an election where I did not have to choose between the lesser of two evils. Sadly, that includes 2008.

Original article: A letter to readers

Good luck Cary

My thoughts are with you, I will raise a glass to your speedy recovery...

Tap Rat

Ir proves that some people should not be allowed to vote, at least.

Wednesday, November 18, 2009 11:28 AM

Whatever else you do

do not lie about it to your son. Also, were I you, I would slowly stop going to church until one day I didn't have to go at all. I think it was ee cummings who said, the greatest thing about modern life is not going to church on Sunday.

Also, you are not alone, there are plenty of us atheists out here that are simply not interested in religion one way or the other.

No one disuptes

that Al Gore actually won the 2000 National Presidential Election. What he lost was the Electoral College Presidential Election, the election that actually elects the President. Until the EC is gone, we are stuck with the fact that our vote for President doesn't really count.

Aim high

My grandpa always said, aim high for the sky, and if you are lucky you might hit the top of the telephone pole.

Thursday, November 5, 2009 03:51 PM

where is

the NRA? If people were allowed to carry weapons on Army bases this never would have happened.

Monday, November 2, 2009 02:36 PM

At this point

I hope Hoffman wins. It'd serve those 23rd district voters right. Be careful what you wish for.

Friday, October 30, 2009 08:09 AM

Easy fix

Bring back Cash for Clunkers. Hell we spend upwards of 5 billion a month on the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, with no end in sight. I don't see why we can't spend a little fraction of that right here in the good old US of A.

2012

Cheney/Palin 2012!

Thursday, October 15, 2009 03:24 PM

If only

Ned Lamont had come out forcefully after his primary win and told Joe in no uncertain terms that he won, Joe lost, and get off the stage or risk looking like the sorest loser of all time, we'd be talking about Senator Lamont right now. Instead, inexplicably, Lamont went on vacation, when he should have been working every network and media outlet 48 hours straight. Oh for what might have been.

Original article: Are we bipartisan now?

hau

Personally I hope they raise your taxes to pay for it.

Friday, October 9, 2009 09:03 AM

There's no comparison

Republicans are irrational and untruthful. Democrats are rational and truthful. The time has come to destroy the GOP, utterly and completely and without mercy, by any means necessary.

Friday, October 9, 2009 08:53 AM

@ cecilbeanie

Another thing I remember about the embassy bombings, a year or two prior to the attacks, the Clinton administration had requested money to rebuild and fortify the embassies, and the Newt Gingrich led Congress denied it. I think the time has come to destroy the GOP utterly completely and without mercy. They are down, now is the time to deliver the death blow.

Jon and Kate

Then Jon and Kate, followed by Jon and Kate, and lastly Jon and Kate. It makes me sick I even ever heard of those two.

Thursday, October 8, 2009 03:44 PM

Dear trolls

Boy are you about to lose big time. It's the end for you and your cockamamie ideas.

Original article: Olbermann's wasted moment

You are wrong

It was very effective. Emotional and personal and anecdotal and visceral. No one really wants to listen to someone delve into the nuts and bolts of lawmaking and the process that goes into it, but we can all relate to humanity. And that is what Olbermann gave us tonight.

Wednesday, October 7, 2009 09:23 AM

I suppose

they could be, but they're not. I still don't think anyone realizes just how much things have changed in the last 5 years. The GOP is over. It is going to split into the Palin wing and the Romney wing. Not only are they not going to pick up a single seat in the midterms, they will in fact lose seats in both the House and the Senate.

Tuesday, October 6, 2009 03:26 PM

I don't know

but I have been trying to read Ulysses for 5 years.

Tuesday, October 6, 2009 12:54 PM

Yeah

we have been hearing this for years. I don't think it's going to happen any time soon. Like HDTV, it took 25 years before it became available even though we heard every year that it was coming in the next year.

Tuesday, October 6, 2009 10:27 AM
Original article: Time for a second stimulus?

I have been hearing

about the federal deficit now for 30 years, and I can't see that it's done any harm at all. In fact pretty much everyone I know is better off now than they were 30 years ago. I say put the pedal to the metal...

Monday, October 5, 2009 05:26 PM

I still say

no one but me realizes the extent of the political change that happened last year. We'll see, but my guess is the GOP is done for.

Monday, October 5, 2009 03:06 PM

minor blow

For which Democrats? I'm a Democrat and it certainly isn't even a mild breeze for me. I cold care less what that butthole thinks.

Friday, October 2, 2009 10:48 AM

@ RDisdier

We can call you hypocrites right now. You don't get to tell us what we can call you, and when we can call you it. It's a free country douchebag. Get over it.

Friday, October 2, 2009 10:21 AM

Who cares

The more they rejoice, the stupider they appear to the rest of us. Chicago always was a long shot, Rio has been the odds on favorite since the process began. We are really seeing the right grasp at straws over the last few years, soon they will drown in a pool of their own bodily fluids. Then, we can rejoice.

Thursday, October 1, 2009 03:56 PM

Yeah or maybe

sales sucked already, and rather than steal from the future C4K gave a much needed shot in the arm, and now sales are back where they started. I mean there's a whole lot of people who would still be driving their clunkers, less that $4500.

Thursday, October 1, 2009 03:02 PM

Elephantman

is a racist. Read his/her past letters. Everything he/she writes is discredited by that fact.

Thursday, October 1, 2009 03:00 PM

MYOB

Is what this whole thing comes down to, if you ask me.
