This was a phenomenal speech that covers all bases, especially when she asked the question if they were for her or the cause. I hope that those PUMA or whomever they are will get this message. America is facing one of the greatest challenges, and this is not the time for contention and division. A nation divided as well as a party shall not stand, and Barack is not the enemy. And are these people so ignorant and foolish to support the real enemy and aid the continuance of one of the most corrupt and despotic administration in America? Hillary was definite on point when she called Bush and McCain the twin city. Just the thought of McCain winning the election sends cold chills down my spine, and I am inclined to agree with an article in the Herald, Uk by Iain MacWhirter when he states, "It seems incredible, but as the Democrats gather in Denver to anoint Barack Obama, America could be on course to re-elect a Republican as their President. Not just any Republican either, but a belligerent 71-year-old who can't remember how many houses he owns and would happily nuke Iran, etc. etc.". The authors continues with his dialogue by stating that America is a strange, strange, country; however, I will take it a step further, electing McCain will make us a foolish country! In addition, I noticed a smug and arrogant look on Bill Clinton's face when she metioned his works. All I can say is the man is so vain he thinks everything is about him. America appreciates the Clinton's political contributions, but Bill should realize that he contributed to some of Hilliary's problems, and the world does not revolve around him. I have always been a Hilliary Clinton supporter, but Bill is going to far. He needs to get over this lost and rally around the party because all of our lives are at stake!
If America was so in love with and wanted Hilliary and had that much confident in her, then they should have picked her instead of attempting to place their inabilities of whether they were ready for a woman president on Obama. This election is not about the candidate, it is about us. Therefore, Ms. Palin entered this freely, so should she be spared tough questions? No! This is about our lives, and I do care about my family and myself and that 3 am call. Mitchell sounds as if she is from the good old boys school or the keeper of the hearth mentality and delicatecy of women by asserting that women should be handled with kid gloves. Putin et al. will be playing for keeps, so Palin needs to woman up!
This is what I love about Sen. Obama is his ability to bridge love, faith, and politics with genuineness and compassion. Some of the radicals Evangelicals with their Jonah mentality should take some lessons from him instead of praying for a Noah type flood that could have thrown people into a panic and destroyed human life at the stadium and then have the audacity to pretend that they were joking after the story hit the national airways. Many contend that Sen. Obama is not forceful enough, but that is untrue, he possesses compassion and genuinesness in which gives him a strength and resolve that is needed in times like these that try mens souls.
Sen. Obama handled this crisis perfectly. However, it is a crisis for McCain because it questions his judgment, and it seems as if proper vetting was not initiated. Will this be a continous pattern with him? Will he rush to make decisions for this country without proper information and discussion, and will he be bullied by certain special interest groups? This decision to select Palin is more about McCain's credibility and judgment than it is about Palin, although she is a crucial element in this equation.
First, Palin should work on her own corruption because as the news steadily leaks out, there are a lot of gray areas and unanswered questions concerning her. However, the Republicans are using every means possible to cover it, just as they have in the past; they have expertise in covering up and lying, especially when the mainstream media is one of their biggest contributors in aiding and abetting..
I agree that McCain decision does show his rashness, poor judgment, and incompetence. It is a more of the same dangerous Bush tactics. Also, McCain was not the only prisoner of war, and McCain was fortunate, he did return home. However, 57,000 plus and those missing in action did not return home, and what about their families? There are mentally challenged and homeless Vietnam veterans et al. that roam American's streets whom have served valiantly for this country, and what about them? McCain has been blessed with wealth, prestige, and opportunities to numerous to mentioned, yet some Vietnam vets rewards from America is their daily regiment of eating out of the garbage, begging for handouts, sleeping in cardboard boxes and street benches, and charged for vagrancy by the police department and sometimes chased from street corner to street corner and also chased out of town. So please spare us the McCain POW drama! Many vets are suffering, yet McCain voted against the very programs that will aid them; his voting record on veteran affairs, D+ proves this, and than lied about it as he does everything else. America wake up!
