Original article: Obama's best veep choice

THE DEAD CENTER OF THE CENTER ?? ------ Joe Biden ABSOLUTELY shoulda oughta have served at the top of de Ticket ...

.... however, -- the party wonks -- ever-goo-goo over Candidate's whose proclivities are driven toward the 'TOOTS & WHISTLES' of Politics and superficialities of Logic -- will fall in behind their --- what did they call it? -- 'Dream Ticket' -- rather than someone who will target ... as Gore Vidal aptly put it ... the Dead Center of the Center.

JOE BIDEN was many, many miles closer to this Bull's-Eye of America than the very, very Green, very, very Flawed B. HUSSEIN OBAMA. You would have to be an absolute zero-ground retard not see this one coming.

The man is infact a Zero -- with a zero record of true accomplishments, save perhaps heading his college newspaper. He does own a yet-to-be-thoroughly-inflated voting record, one that for Salonialists may be quite Spiffy & Cheery. --

But for the other .9999782 % of America outside The Salon -- those who don't consider themselves to be hog-jamed out into Mister O's Far Leftfield's bleachers.

Joe Biden's long accomplished reign as a seasoned Star Center Fielder counted for nothing during the Season. Its really too bad.

Come fall, when the Series ends, there will still be a number of hardcore loosers who felt a flashy new uniform & a spanking new rookie was 'Our Hope' -- Our Dreamer with the Big Dreams.

After the Whistles & Bells & Bellowing Voices fall silent in Denver -- and again 'The Activists' doom the Party to yet another failed charge to best the Great White Windmill -- the more sober among Ye All will think back and wonder why did we failed to keep the gunsight focused on the Dead Center of the Bull's Eye; its what the Maverick's been doing for the past 20 years.

Vidal understands the Reality of the playing field; as does McCain -- as did the heavily flawed Senator Clinton -- as did the nearly flawless Senator Biden. It's The Noise from the Salon that failed to understand Reality.

Ralph Nader, the only True-to-Heart Democrat, makes Lit'l Barry look like a runny-nosed, dim thinking 4th grader. But he burned his bridges years ago by pointing out to the party heads the $limey ways of their Ways-Of-Doing-Things in Washington.

The party's sole chance in November will be for drafting a centrist like Biden whom the Joe Blows & Sally Schmucks of America in the center field bleachers will feel comfortable with. It's they who have Decided nearly Every Election in Memory.

C'MON --- Let's get just a Little Perspective on What the Question REALLY is ?

... and the question is NOT whether this man is Qualified or Fit to hold the reins of the most powerful office in human history.

... the REAL question in Most Thinking American Minds Is whether this man --

(according to his Resume & Actual Legislative Record during his 31 rookie months of Virtual Quietude in Washington)

-- whether this man is Even Qualified or Fit to head the DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE,

-- let alone a REAL executive position like say, ... the MAYOR of CHICAGO's Office --

-- or perhaps the 'presidency' of the Schwinn Bicycle Manufacturing Plant in his home state -- turning around such an enterprise MIGHT just prove the young fellow's mettle.

-- but to date we can only measure this "COMMANDER-IN-CHIEF-WANNABE" by his brief post running his college paper.

hmmmmm ..... What was it that Gibbon wrote about the law of diminishing returns in leadership as the barbarians at the gate vied for a seat amidst the gathering vultures ??

This story is like way too weird; --- it rightly belongs somewhere between the annals of the Theater of the Absurd and the Twilight Zone.

Original article: Summer reads

"THE BOTTOM BILLION" --- Peter Collier

nope. it ain't fresh off the presses. other priority readings prevented a reading prior to its release sometime before last xmas.

but what a thoughtful, provocative read it is !!

indeed, it makes most of the present gossipy titles on the new release shelves seem rather small.
