Original article: Obama's grand tour

Funny, what a Squalking-Scribbling-Talking Head sees when she/he views reality through the Tint of their own Rose Colored Glasses

SEZ SAID-POSTER IN HER POSTING . . . .

"As I watched back-to-back Obama and McCain appearances on television Tuesday morning, it was hard not to FEEL a little bit SORRY for McCain. What was his campaign thinking, scheduling a tiny, HOKEY (!!) town hall meeting in Manchester, N.H., where the GOP nominee spoke against the uninspiring backdrop of a SAGGING FLAG (!!), nice ELDERLY folks and a few small KIDS who can't vote? Meanwhile, Obama looked CALM and PRESIDENTIAL at the Citadel in Amman, Jordan, a history-rich landscape behind him, flanked by ADMIRING, white-haired Senate colleagues Chuck Hagel and Jack Reed."

. . . . I mean, ... like .... c'mon already

I viewed the same CNN segment this a.m. (it'll be repeated later throughout the day for those that missed it).

To CNN's credit ... it was a bit extended .... a (very, very) lengthy span of time given to a Faceless-Nobody who presented the standard programed Harangue about her personal views about the Issue-At-Hand.

As I was cutting the veal of my breakfast plate & reaching for my mug-o-java, I felt ... "this is going to be interesting." --- but just as the overly patient Repooblican was reving up to launch into the issue .... the CNN producer pulled the strings on the segment !!

"WHAAAAAATT !!!" ---- I blurted, as Fido received a Spring Shower of spray across his startled glare. --- As I wiped Fido's cowering face ... CNN broke to a segment discussing a child's plastic teething piece of junk.

Vidal recently observed that he thought that he could hear the rattling of nuts & bolts as McCain strided across the stage. --- that was funny.

What's less than amusing is to get "news" from the "most trusted name" in news through a Tinted Glass

Here a Nazi, there a Nazi, everywhere a Not-zie -- Old MacDonald had a farm, eYie, eYie O --- The Great American Rehashed Reduxe

Everybody is name-calling ... He's a Nazi 'cause he's a republican -- she's a Commie, 'cause she's a democrat --- you're a bigot ... no, you're a bigot ... no, you are ... you are ... arghhhhhh !!

The very first order of business is to define the words we use ... often carelessly. ----- exscuse whilst I reach over for my RANDOM HOUSE DICTIONARY OF THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE ... hmmm, bigot, bigot, ... bigot ... oh yes, here she be !

BIGOT: 1) A person who is uterly INTOLERANT of any differing creed, BELIEF, or OPINION" ..

and further ...

INTOLERANT: 1) "not respecting beliefs, opinions, usages, manners, etc. differing from one's own."

And now that we are all settled on WHO the Bigots are in our little circles -- let's reiterate a picture of a fellow we all know, or have known ---

Urban Sidewalk Artist ? .. check --- Vegetarian ? .. check --- Drugs ? .. check --- Believer in Free Love to the day he died in shackin up with his Bitch (and by all accounts, such a flammer was Eva Braun) ? .. check --- Advocate for socialism's answer to society's ills ? .. check --- A self-styled "progressive" that laid harangues against the blood-sucking bankers and corporations ? .. check --- An advocate for Gov't sanctioned Politically Correct Thought Police ? .. check --- A lambaster of Christianity ? .. check --- A cutting edge hi-tech geek who had a savvy media knack in manipulating the downtrodden Masses ? check -- A bigoted rabble-rouser from the flophouse tenements whose answer to everything was "revolution" .. check .. check .. check ---

Mister Hitler was no conservative railing against the state for his Liberty -- and he sure weren't no liberal (egads!) -- but he was, in fact, from his Beer Hall days on, a full-fledged, self-styled "PROGRESSIVE".

"Oh no, not me -- I ain't no bigot -- I'm a -- (ta-dah !!) -- Progressive !! ... "

"Fortschrittlich ! Fortschrittlich ! Wir sind alle progressive !! -- Wir sind ein volk !! "-- (chorus: Sieg, Heil !!)"

Well, well -- musta ruffled some feathers --

I simply point out the fact that our nation is full of Right Wing Bigots *AND* Left Wing Bigots -- but hand it to Leftwingers to get all jittery in their seats because they might discover that they might be a dictionary-defined .... full-blown Bigot. (how could one sleep at night with such a thought)

At home with my 'garage-sale' bought OED (2nd edition, 20 vols.), i will satisfy the hi-browed haughtiness of one and all with the following ....

BIGOTRY: "The condition of a bigot. Obstinate and unenlightened attachment to a particular creed, OPINION, system or party" (didn't mention which party)

In an earlier thread one reader insisted that there ought not be any confusion between "Populists" & "Progressives" -- Fact iz -- don't really give a flame 'bout the 2 define it any-which-way-you-please terms.

Mister Hitler, however, had NO scrupples in declaring that he was both a "progressive" (progressive) and a populist leader of the "volk".

Fact iz -- i've voted in every election possible, but never once for the republican bloke running.

Such is what was alluded to when I suggested that both the Right & the Left across our sunny land are die-hard Bigots -- Both wings, .... B I G O T S ...

And if ye denies the charge ... then you're simply stOOpid Bigots, --- as defined by the OED.

NOW ITS OBAMA THAT'S BEING COMPARED TO ADOLPH ?? --- THE MEDIA IS SO FICKLE !!

I was certain that it was Bush Junior who was supposed to be the reincarnated Fascist . . . .

Or No - - - I beleive that was Nixon ... or maybe it was Reagan.

I ferget. But lets get it straight ... then be done with it.
