Bumper Stickers
[Read the article: War Room contest: Pick the Democrats' bumper sticker]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Democrats:
Save the Republic. Vote Democratic.
Republicans:
Don't question authority.
-or-
Vote Republican. What have the smart guys done for you?

Only fair . . .
[Read the article: Quote of the day: Obama on boxers vs. briefs]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]. . . to ask Hilary the same question.
-
typo, sorry
[Read the article: Quote of the day: Obama on boxers vs. briefs]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Hillary, of course.

In the first "Rocky"
[Read the article: Rocky is not running for president]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]If I recall correctly, in the original Rocky movie, our hero may have never given up -- he "went the distance" -- but he didn't win, either.
Hillary may want to consider her analogies more carefully.
-
Forget about the safety part . . .
[Read the article: Beware the ninja Prius]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]the real reason electric cars need to make noise is so that the mass of people will buy them. "Vroom vroom" is so ingrained in our consciousness, a car that lacks it will never be considered a true automobile.

"Surrogate?"
[Read the article: McCain surrogate says Americans are "whiners"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Okay, I didn't like it when conservatives and the MSM called Wesley Clark an Obama "surrogate," so to be fair let me register my objections when Salon does the same on the other side.
Not everybody who supports you is your surrogate. Not everyone who advises you is your surrogate. Someone authorized to stand in for you, to literally take your place (temporarily) is your surrogate. Your press secretary or official spokesman, maybe. But not just any guy who's supporting your campaign and has high name recognition. They're not your surrogates, and you don't have to cut them dead when they say something stupid. You just have to disagree.

"Maverick Brand"
[Read the article: Why isn't Obama crushing McCain?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Mark Murray uses this term, and I wonder if he realizes how neatly it encapsulates the hollowness of McCain's independent reputation. Samuel Maverick was the guy who refused to brand his cattle.

Body language?
[Read the article: Clinton rules]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]People see what they want to see, and that goes triple for pundits. Conservative pundits, in particular, are desperate to continue Clinton-wants-Obama-to-lose narrative because they really, really aren't looking forward to Obama vs. McCain.
