"Jews for McCain? Don't make me laugh" amen

It occurs to me that maybe nonJews don't really understand Jews and that maybe conservatives, Jewish or not, don't really understand nonconservatives.

Jews are the most reliably liberal and progressive voters around. They are overall less convinced than nonJews that nuking every Arab in the world is the way to guarantee security for Israel. That may not have been true 30 years ago, but it's true now.

Jews know that they are the people Palin is talking about when she describes the not-real-Americans who live in big cities. And they've seen where that kind of thinking can lead, that's why they came to America in the first place.

Jews know that the ultraOrthodox ultraconservative Jews don't represent their views any more than the fundamentalist Christians represent the average nonJew.

Jews will take a well educated bright guy over a genial dimbulb any day, despite any serious philosophical differences the scholar may have. Even if they are envious, they are absolutely immune to that "I didn't go to Harvard, I'm just a regular guy with common sense, just like you" shtick.

And finally, Jews are not so "different" that they are more prone to fall for idiotic BS designed to appeal to their biases than nonJews. Even older Jews aren't any more gullible in the Islamophobia department than older nonJews.

wow how unlucky

not only mugged; not only mugged by an Obama supporter; but mugged by an Obama supporter with dyslexia.

she's quite the maverick

you have to admit.

Original article: I Like to Watch

it's a continuum

arrested development to always sunny in philadelphia to testees.

to be fair, always sunny seems be going overboard in order to provide a proper lead in for testees. thus the pooped the bed plot, etc. look; if danny devito saw it and decided he wanted in, how can it not be funny, if you have the proper attitude?

i'd miss always sunny if it went away; testees being a little further out hasn't yet got my loyalty, but it does have potential. hard as it may be to believe, the scene of the two amnesiac protagonists declaring their mutual affection by holding a (slightly graphic) live sex show in front of their friends and family (including a video cam destined for you tube) was really great.

Original article: The Republican shipwreck

well marx said

the capitalists will sell you the rope used to hang them. that's just because he didn't know about junk mortgages and derivatives and such.

makes perfect sense

in the bizarro world which the republicans have lived in for 20 years; you send the national guard overseas to occupy a foreign country, and you post the army domestically for emergencies.

another option she didnn't mention

when you get arrested, opt for jail time instead of a fine. not only do you save that money, but in jail you are supplied with food, lodging, heat, healthcare, and all the other things you couldn't afford while on the outside.

hey

how bout a record deal for palin?

Friday, October 31, 2008 08:43 AM

juliebird, i have uncovered concrete evidence

that obama's father is, in fact, that same nigerian bastard who keeps sending out the emails asking for money. he's a socialist like obama. probably a muslim too. but the media are covering it up! i have it all detailed on my blog, but unfortunately at present my blog resides solely on my hard drive, as i dare not put this out on the internet because it would make me a target for the NWO.

Original article: Ashley Todd agrees to deal

huh, what are the odds

somebody who still supports the republicans after 8 years of bush, having cognitive difficulties.

there's that republican voter base again.

Original article: Ashley Todd agrees to deal

"Ashley Todd was a paid organizer, not a volunteer"

I find that hard to believe. you can't tell me the mccain campaign has anybody making any attempt to organize it, even crazy people.

Friday, October 31, 2008 09:33 AM

here's some of that charity palin talks about

I'm collecting as many letter g's as I can to send to her, since she seems to have lost all hers.

Friday, October 31, 2008 09:58 AM

it's kinda sad.

everybody on both sides is lost and looking for a messiah, or the equivalent. maybe i'm old and jaded, but i'm just looking for a decent manager. how sad for the rightwingers, when the best messiah they can come up with is palin, mccain having failed at the job.

of course they're both inexperienced; the more you know about somebody, the less you're going to think he/she is the messiah.

"like a drifter i was born to walk alone" yeah, i wish. the leader of the Herd of Mavericks.

Me, I'll stick with

"Don't follow leaders; and watch the parking meters".

"vlad the imPalin"

I'm just putting it out there, it's not that funny; but feel free to use it or not.
