fer crying out loud

yeah, the mccain team knew all about bristol and her baby daddy last week before making up their mind, but palin's press spokesman had no idea on saturday. need to know thing, i guess.

is there the slightest shadow of a doubt that the kid came forward last sunday "uh mom, we have to talk" (which is perfectly normal) and they are now lying their asses off to look like they are in total control of everything (which is really abnormal)? following in the bush footsteps, i see, bringing honor and dignity and most of all truth back to the white house.

good summary dragonscholar

"game of chicken" was the 2000 florida election mess in a nutshell. the bushies at least convinced the democrats that they would have an armed insurrection if they had to, and all of a sudden the democrats were saying "well, how much difference does it make, with the electorate this close, he will have to govern as a centrist".

your analysis of republicans and democrats reminds me of parasitology. parasites typically start off as actual independent creatures with functional organs and such; but evolution streamlines them by removing everything that isn't directly related to making them efficient parasites. the democrats suffer from still having some vestigial scruples and concern for american citizens, and this excess baggage weighs them down in comparison to the republican party, which is a highly tuned machine for gaining political power and selling that power to the highest bidders for cash which it then uses to gain more political power; any considerations which may divert some of that cash or power to any other purposes have been whittled away. democrats still waste time, energy, money, and/or votes doing things which are morally, ethically, or logically correct but cost them votes; opposing "drill here, drill now", for example, at the cost of getting stuck trying to explain it to drunken harley riders. apparently, however, the powerful hand of natural selection is now eliminating this drag on electoral fitness as well, as we have seen in the democrats recently.

ironic that the republican party, such a product of evolution, doesn't believe in it on the grounds that it leaves no room for morality.

ahh i see;

the caribou population is booming so we don't need to worry about the effects of drilling in anwr, except that we need to kill off the wolves to save the caribou. i forgot how compelling that rightwing logic can be.

the liberal media

in the context of rightwing rhetoric, "liberal media" means that they steadfastly refuse to take the position that homosexuality is the work of Satan incarnate.

fight the power! oppose the wealthy and powerful poor!

mccain and palin; card carrying members of the individualists' union.

furthermore

"'I do support contraception if it is a form which is not abortifacient.' A lot of these anti-choice extremists think that birth control pills are abortifacients. Someone should flat out ask her if she wants to ban the pill."

given that breastfeeding seems to interfere with implantation of a fertilized embryo early in the return to ovulation after pregnancy, http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/1521642 i assume we're looking at a constitutional ban on breastfeeding to save those poor tiny innocent babies from being so tragically slaughtered by liberals and their damn breastfeeding agenda.

Original article: Pissed about Palin

aside from the fact

that she's an obvious moron, although a high-functioning one, who succeeds by aggression and quick simple answers to complex problems, then failing upwards before the shit hits the fan, with no sense of the real problems facing america and/or the human race, i have no problem with her.

why does the republican party find it so neccessary to keep telling us she's attractive? that just makes me figure that if they lie about that they're probably lying about all her other "qualifications"

darn liberals

how rude, to use pig in analogy to somebody who refers to themselves as a pit bull. the proper terminology is pit-bull-americans.

women the rightwing considers attractive

Sarah Palin

Ann Coulter

prima facie evidence of impairment of brain functions.

silly liberals

you members of the reality based community don't understand.

truth comes from within and cannot be sullied by simple facts. all my life the truth of sarah palin has resided within my internal world, and now is made flesh as the embodiment of the true outstanding conservative female ideal. you cannot sully her by pointing out that she is just another political hack because she resides enshrined in my ideal conservative world image, where you cannot touch her.

i don't care if you're liberal or conservative

It ought to be pretty clear by now that the Republican party has become the party of crazy people, idiots, cranks, compulsive contrarians, paranoids, et al. Look at Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, for examples. As well as the notable absence of Colin Powell. He used to appear at each Republican convention to lecture them about how the Republicans need to make more of an effort to reach out to black America; but now they've floated out there beyond the reach of even nagging and there's no place for even Powell.

Me, I'd rather hire somebody who disagreed with me philosophically but was competent to run my business than somebody who agreed with me on everything but was an idiot, crazy, or both.

darn

i guess that means i can't my next cost saving idea enacted; bill murder victims for the cost of the chalk outline around their bodies.

Thursday, September 11, 2008 08:21 AM

at the convention

when palin said

"when the last section is laid and its valves are open" half the republican males got a hard on. the rest hadn't taken their cialis yet.
