Carter's not the guy to fix it.

Carter's not a dishonest broker by meeting with hamas; meeting with hamas is a logical thing to do. Carter's a dishonest broker because he has never come clean about the personal financial relationship between himself and the Saudi royals via the BCCI, including while he was president, even though he lambastes as biased every US politician who has ever shaken the hand of somebody from AIPAC or the Israeli government. For evidence that this is more than just suspicion, when has the Carter Center (who has received a lot of Saudi money) ever found a single thing to criticize about civil rights in Saudi Arabia? Either they're pretty progressive down there, or the Center needs a name change. I say that with all the passion of somebody who found out that his idol has feet of clay after all.

what should obama do about Wright? that's easy

he should put out his policy platform regarding things like the iraq war, the Afghanistan/al qaeda war, the economy, global warming, and healthcare and tell us why his ideas are better than clinton's or mccain's. what else would be logical? possibly he should make it clear that wright will not be appointed vice president.

always wondered about that logic

shale oil, tar sands, etc. are too expensive to get, but when the price of oil goes up there'll be enough economic incentive that there'll be plenty of oil; yeah, but doesn't that mean plenty of oil at $100+ a barrel?

fun for whom?

a couple of months ago i had the luck to see the security personnel literally terrorize a woman who had the bad judgement to take a picture of her kids inside the no-photos! security zone. after making sure the photos were deleted (thank god for digital cameras) and after she was safely out of sight, they all had a good laugh about it. i guess the fact that all us astounded passengers were still there watching them wasn't important.

i don't believe this is how el al does it.

yep

yep, when i think of america and the little people who live here, i get all nostalgic for henry ford and his antisemitic hitler-loving legacy. but most of all, the bloody beatings his goons would give workers who tried to unionize. i know peggy shares this with me.

ooh, really bad choice of words

"But it was an on-again, off-again thing"

and don't forget

to bring it all together; the people behind this fine project are the same ones telling you that we don't have to worry about global warming, our fine technology will just engineer our adaptation to whatever comes up. the same way we engineered new orleans' safety during storms.

Original article: I was wrong about Wright

but joan:

what about the important things? what's wright's bowling score? and has he ever posed topless? well, i'm pretty sure the media are investigating these questions for me.

one thing's for sure

well organic/sustainable agriculture sure can't keep the world in cheeseburgers. better develop a taste for lentils, folks.

luckily, the us is prepared.

our foresighted leaders enacted the guano islands act in 1856:

"Whenever any citizen of the United States discovers a deposit of guano on any island, rock, or key, not within the lawful jurisdiction of any other government, and not occupied by the citizens of any other government, and takes peaceable possession thereof, and occupies the same, such island, rock, or key may, at the discretion of the President, be considered as appertaining to the United States."

if i were obama's speechwriter

hey america; i'm about as religious as most of you, and you know what that means... like you i just picked my church because of the location and some friends of mine who attended there and some movers and shakers who go there i thought it would be good to hang with; and wright was entertaining as hell so sunday's weren't boring. geez, if i knew i was going to to stuck with explaining my pastor, i would have interviewed quite a few before picking one. can't i go back to being a secret muslim again? y'all seemed to like that.

it's bound to help

the rudeness and hostility of the immigration officials as they eventually do let you into the US, will undoubtedly serve to discourage the al qaeda terrorists, who are quite sensitive to such things.

if only

obama would have a sex-change operation...

leave it to a military man

he understands that in times of war, you want to cut the funds that go into the government which funds our military, so that we can send more to the Arabian governments who fund our enemies.

life is good

between the tax rebate and maybe a gas tax holiday, i don't even mind defaulting on my mortgage.

stupid stereotypes

do you think our male ancestors would have sex 24/7, since women were not empowered to decline?

it's all just pounded into your head; males pursue, women play coy. if you don't follow that rule, you're obviously gay.

yahoo and google

does make more sense; you're right, yahoo search is useless. i like yahoo mail, though.

it's a gray world folks

you'd think we the progressives would know that there's a wide scale here, not just Good or Evil. And that it's multidimensional, so that Good/Evil isn't even right as a single axis of comparison.
