I agree

Lanny Davis, is all those things you say. But he also doesn't win his arguments anymore. Ahh Whole Foods. I've seen and read people defend them. Does John Mackey even know who frequents Whole Foods and does he really believe any of us give a &*)&(*)(*& what Lanny Davis writes. Mackey, sealed Whole Foods own fate with his ridiculous op-ed. If he didn't think there would be blowback that says much more about him that it does about the folks who frequent WF's. Lanny Davis is similarly stunted. Does he seriously believe any of us, who were mostly Obama supporters forget the things he said during the election, let alone his shilling for corporations? What a tool. He'd lost all credibility months ago and now he just continues to seal his own fate. I am glad you put it all together in one place. It is Davis and those like him who want compromise, and no matter how much power the Democrats get by being overwhelmingly elected on 2008, he wants republicans to have more power at the table. WTF? I don't get it anymore. But I know one thing for sure, Lanny Davis' shtick is getting really old. I wish he'd just go away.

And one aside to Mackey: If you want us to treat you like businessmen, CEO’s, then don’t take positions like politicians.

@Critical Path

Absolutely correct! If we'd chosen GHC for our plan it would cost a total of $15,600.00 a year for the insurance premiums. We of course are with the federal government, they pay around $13,000 of that a year. That isn't saving money! Only a public option will save money, and it will force insurance companies to compete. I believe insurance companies must have some collusion going on with each other because of all the plans we get to choose from, they all cost relatively the same, hmm, why is that? Co-op or private, for profit or not-for-profit. We are with the largest group in the nation, what did I read the other day, 8 million people are in the group, and yet it costs $15,600.00 a year to insure a family. Hmmm, makes you think doesn't it.

I am glad the House Liberals are making themselves heard.

Here is my note to Secretary Sebelius: The United States Congress is not the Kansas State Legislative body. They must respond to the concerns of the nation. This is the moment in time to jump out in front, it isn't time to compromise one more time with Republicans and screw the American Public.

Well to be fair, of course Republicans find a 61 year old librarian dangerous! The both read and comprehend!

Antonin Scalia

What a lame argument Just Scalia. Innocence does not matter. Of course it doesn't. The court hasn't done anything like this in 50 years.. blah blah blah.

Hey dude the court never intervened in a Presidential Election before either, but remember when you did that. So here is to you Justice Scalia, I raise my mug o'hypocrisy to you.

Make the republicans Filibuster

Dare them, 60 votes is ridiculous. I agree with James Carville. Make them filibuster, see if that works for the electorate. Oh and while backing the Republicans into a corner over a filibuster, work on your message. Explain the public plan, give some numbers, give people an idea of what will be in the plan, you know sell it. Holy Crap, how much more Keystone Cop can this get anyway?

@peeps1

I loved it when he said, arguing with you is like arguing with a dining room table! That was awesome! I love him too!

@verycold

The short answer to those employees of your relative, is they should be forced to contribute to the system they will eventually use. Your relative did the right thing, he is obviously a fantastic guy to work for. I really mean that. He obviously cared about his employees! Small business owners are the least equipped to afford these things for themselves let alone their employees. My own son, 23, was hired by two companies this year, he did choose the company that offered medical benefits. When he asked me what he should do, one offered 35/hr but no medical benefits, the other offered 16/hr but full medical benefits. I advised him to take the job with benefits. Amazingly, he listened! (Quite unusual for a 23 year old) He got a 4/hr raise in the first two months he was hired, but he gets full medical benefits. Why because everyone needs them even young people.

You are forced to get car insurance right, well why is a car more important that your life?

Barney Frank Rocks

That is the best video I’ve seen in a very long time! And more politicians should be treating this issue the same way Congressman Frank did, especially they should use the line “talking to you is like talking to a dining room table”, I love that line!!!!! Cause it is the truth, these folks want to believe nonsense so they do.

@squaresville

True, but what is more important, your life or your car?

@squaresville

I have to pick someone up at the train station. When I return I will give you my full explanation.
