Free Speech

There are so many letters in this thread. Slogging through it has been rough. To many trolls are taking over this thread. Free Speech does not mean you cannot be held responsible for what you say.

The First Amendment (ok the first 10 amendments) are an outline of rights a Government cannot take away from people. No one has taken away the right for those lunatic right on the radio to say whatever it is they want to say. However, the first amendment does not protect you from being held responsible for what you've said.

Let's say you yell "Fire" in a crowded theater, and people die because of what you yelled. Well you did have the right to yell "fire" but society can hold you accountable for what your words caused. There are always consequences for any actions taken, this is the Third Law of Physics, for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. In the human world we don't refer to this as Newtons third law, but we do have a name for it, some of us call it consequences, others call it Karma.

Those right wing talkers are free to spew their vitriol, and they certainly continue to do so. We are free to heap disdain upon them and lay blame at their feet.

Explain this line to me:

The woman's husband was married to a man who worked in Ensign's Senate office.

Are you really saying the woman's husband was married to a man at one time and his former spouse/husband worked in Ensign's office!!!!!

@Margot62

What is your answer, start another war, oh I mean two wars, since you are talking about North Korea too. So can you say fighting four wars is a great idea? Or should we just talk tough. Keep in mind margot62, some military folks are already doing four and five tours in Iraq. Currently there not enough people to continue to fight in Iraq and Afghanistan, let alone add two more places Iran and North Korea. Why do neocons have an obsession with war? Why is the answer du'jour War. OMG. Do you ever in a million years think those ideas through to their logical ends?

A War for every Neo-Con. I suppose we ought to just go to Syria too, I mean neocons hate them. From what they are saying that is reason enough to engage. Where next? Who will we attack next? According to the moron brigade we should just attack everyone who doesn't agree with us, and then we can rule the world like Alexander the Great, Atilla the Hun, Spain, England, oh wait.....

They Fired Froomkin

Well I am not surprised. I read Kagans piece yesterday and today Kathleen Parker says the same thing in her little piece, so they fire their one real reporter. Ahh the post has really taken a sharp turn away from the Watergate Days haven't they.

My Letter to the WaPo regarding Saturdays Editorial

That will never be published.

To the Editor:

Ok, we already know the WaPo editorial board endorses every war in the Middle East, we also know you advocate war in Iran. We know, we know, we know, because your hirelings write about it every single day. We know you believe the Geneva Conventions were worth breaking, because they are merely quaint laws. We also know you will label anyone an anti-semite if they criticize your writers. So guess what Editorial Board, John Yoo is a WAR CRIMINAL He advocated jailing American Citizens, denying them their rights under our Constitution. You are outwardly supporting those policies. From 2001 - 2008 your editorial board and opinion writers overwhelmingly supported a whole government of war criminals. Your oldpaper (it certainly is no newspaper) should used to line bird cages with other tabloids as you've turned a formerly great paper into a propaganda tabloid. You have continually supported a President and Vice President who broke laws, and you are now supporting their minion lawyers and slandering excellent judges like the one who says "on with the trial" against criminals Yoo. Since when is it ok to use the excuse I was just following orders?

My haven't we fallen from the Watergate Days, why not just rename yourselves the Druge Report 2.0.

Original article: Quote of the day

Andy Andy

has always been a tool. I am sure with this little missive he will be hired by the WaPo immediately as their newest editorial/propagandist.

War

They want another war, every single day Joan another neocon WaPo editorial/propagandist writes that Pres. Today Andy McCarthy claims the President would rather see a dictatorship in Iran. First off, Andy Andy doesn't seem to realize Musavi is not a lover of democracy! Secondly, these guys never offer solutions, they only offer their criticism and insinuate we must fight again for someone else, when the Iranians seem to be fighting their own battles and as the President said, we are bearing witness to what happens in Iran.

Their thirst for blood is as stunningly stupid as it is frightening! They've learned nothing! Do they not understand that the armed forces cannot fight on another front? Diplomacy is our only option. These guys for some reason think Diplomacy means appeasement and capitulation. These jackals must be hell to live with, I do pity their wives.

John McCain, well what can I say, my haven't we fallen.
