Didn't Glenn predict this would happen. I think it was last week or the week before he predicted Jeffrey Rosen's article would be used by the right to smear Sotomayor. Pat, who is so excellent at memorizing and beefing up republican attacks. All day long Republican operatives, who are always referred to as strategists, have been smearing the judge as not to smart.

Here is the Republican argument in a nut shell. Even though Sonia Sotormayor, supposedly graduated at the top of her class at Princeton, those honors are merely given to any minority because of their minority status, which therefore renders any honor meaningless. Her Suma cum laude status at Princeton is then meaningless, because it does not reflect her superior intellect, but only reflects her status as a minority. The only time these honors have meaning is when they are given to a white guy then it is obviously deserved. Only white guys can earn through hard work a 3.85 or above to be fairly granted the honor. There isn't anyway some latina can really earn this honor by hard work, because her minority status means she never has to compete.

These bastards should choke on their double standards and they will because a constant attack of Judge Sotomayor's intelligence will not go un-noticed by the Hispanic community or women. It has been fun and interesting to watch the republican party march towards irrelevance.

It is great that Newt, Coulter and Rush are attacking Sonia Sotomayor. These three folks do not care if Hispanics vote for Republicans anymore. :) They are a dying party. I am looking forward to another party emerging from this, but a party that is far from Republicans and maybe even democrats, how about a party that can pressure democrats to push for say single payer health care.

This is just an aside Joan, but Max Baucus has been having town hall meetings all over Montana and he is hearing from Montanan's that they want a single payer option. He won't discuss it of course. Max Baucus is a Republican Lite, because he is still operating as though this is the 1990's and not 2009. He and the democrats need pressure to listen to us rather than insurance companies.

Means a GPA above 3.90. Magna Cum Laude 3.7 - 3.89. Cum Laude 3.5 - 3.69. Phi Beta Kappa one must have a 3.75. These are the same at every university and college on the face of the earth.

Although according to moron conservatives they just hand these out at Princeton if you are a minority of some sort, because the administration basically tells PhD's how to award grades. Hahahahaha... hilarious.
