You don't seem to realize that unlike the Republican Party the Democratic party can't tell us who to support, the party does not direct our money when we give it directly to candidates and will see their money dry up if they try to hard to push us around. But this isn't 1960 or even 1980 or even 1998 and John Edwards knows and knew what happens to politicians when they get caught, yet he opted to run in a primary election anyway. It wouldn't have been a big deal anywhere but in his family, however, he elected to do run, be in the public, and then as is the usual, everyone finds out.
