Original article: The mother-daughter wars

@AKA Smith

Just a comment. Mothers are not parents alone. We had our children young my husband was in grad school when we began, I was in grad school when we ended. We have three children, 22, 18 and 17, I am 45 years old. I have a great job and a great husband. What did feminism bring me, the strength to marry a man who shares all responsibilities with me. We split all tasks. If a kid was sick we traded with our time at home. We attended every game each kid was in, even if we had to trade each other to make sure at least one parent and some kids were in attendance. Doctors appointments, my turn, then his turn, etc....

Your judgments don't fit. Our 22 year old is employed, never borrows money from me and comes home to visit us every single weekend. As the kids got older they also had responsibilities to each other and to the house. They've grown up responsible and generally great! I am happy at my professional position, have two masters degrees and actually love my husband of 23 years.

Feminism has brought us real choices, not limits imposed by, you know folks like you who think they have all the answers and simply know because they are filled with personal biases.

I also have a great relationship with my mom and dad, who supported me in everything and they truly love my children and often comment what a great job we've done together, as a team, as a family.

Faux News

Don't you always expect faux news to do something crazy. Is it sexism or racism? And why don't we just mark it up to Faux News scared to lose, since they are an arm of the Republican Party.

Forgot to Add

Oh and I forgot to add, they are a bunch of clowns on Faux News. I can't get mad I am always amazed that people watch that station! I mean they are clownish, buffoonish, and mostly come off as really, really dumb. I just chuckle inside whenever faux news does anything now I can see the desperation of their efforts to keep Republicans in control, and that is all that is going on here. I mean the cannot even get the terms right, the fist pump is terrorist, Obama's baby mama, come on this is called news??? No it is propaganda, let's call it what it is!

Original article: Pipe down, Cindy McCain

Bettin' the Inheritance

On Michelle Obama!!! Cindy should join Rush in Drug court, but I love it cause it makes John McCain look like just what he is: DESPERATE!

@NY Shooter

You have a huge chip on your shoulder don't you. As you get older, that will go away, I hope.

Good

Good, he can raise all kinds of money and the Repubs cannot. Finally the Democrats have an advantage! This is not a negative, this is a positive. This doesn't have to be spun at all! Good. People don't care anything about this supposed issue. And Barack Obama isn't raising most of his money from rich donors, but from regular folks like us, which means he is beholden you know to the people, to do their bidding, no the bidding of Bear Sterns, Enron Loopholes, The French Government (AirBus and the Tanker deal), etc, etc, etc.

Original article: A McCain-Lieberman ticket?

This makes me laugh

I love it, having Lieberman on his ticket is the kiss of death. Therefore, yes excellent....

Taking Public Financing

John McCain is taking public financing because he has to, he couldn't raise the money from regular people to run against Obama if his life depended on it, he's proven that during the primary season. Yahooooo... This time the democrat will have more money than the Republican and this Republican will have to fight him off every where. This just make me feel really good!!! :)

Wow!

Joan

That is cool, you got to see Mr. Carlin in Wisconsin when he was arrested. I always thought he was hilarious and I remember him from the movie Car Wash, he was the Taxi driver. George Carlin was fantastic. My best friend had his album the 7 dirty words and we listened to it until it wore out, He was great. I will personally miss his humor.

@James Tiberius Kirk

James

The thing is bus systems shouldn't have to run a profit. It is infrastructure! It is a strange thing we've gotten ourselves into expecting everything to run at a profit. Oh Well. Our ferry system doesn't run at a profit either, and yet we are still running it and buying newer more efficient ferries and more passenger only ferries, why because the ridership demands it, and infrastructure is a necessary thing.

Oh well.....

Original article: Is Ralph Nader losing it?

Note to Ralph Nader

Barack Obama is as white as he is black.

But I don't have to agree whole heatedly with the candidate, or any candidate for that matter.

I will say the Repub's seem to be on the run this year, next Tuesday at our local democratic meeting we will see three republican's who unbelievably asked if they could attend out meeting including their candidate for governor, and at this point them seem to refuse to identify themselves as republicans!

I almost think Obama could take the most liberal stances on every issue, including impeachment and still be elected! It just isn't going to be a republican year.
