I believe the Discovery Institute, a so called institute issued a widely panned book about eugenics and Darwin and Hitler, it is why wingers always turn to eugenics, even though they know little about evolutionary biology and they prove it whenever they get into a discussion of evolutionary biology. It was a book by John G. West, Darwin Day in America. West is a so called fellow at the Discovery Institute. The Discovery Institute was created with the sole mission of disproving evolution. However, they have never even nicked the theory except among "the stupids". It is pointless to argue with the stupids, they simply do not understand that peer reviewed research that includes methodologies for collecting data is the only way to understand all science, and that includes evolutionary biology. The Discovery Institute is like the creation museum, all mythology but no peer reviewed research comes out of the institute, no papers in pertinent biology journals, one doesn't have to ask themselves why, unless of course you are one of the stupids.

In the end however, Richard Dawkins is correct, it is pointless to argue with nincompoops. What for? Evolution and Evolutionary biology though is a great way to figure out of someone is a winger or not. Yeah we used to play George Dewey HS (Subic Naval Base) in all sports, except football, because IS only had a soccer team, no American football. I loved going to Subic back in the 70's, I longed for the hamburgers and cheese burgers with fries.

One year we got to take the Kitty Hawk up to Subic, 1978, that was kick ass and the food on the carrier was fantastic.

Yes being at the fight was history really. Although I didn't know it then, I was only 13, we'd just moved into Manila from Marinduque, it was a crazy time in Manila. When I saw the film on HBO this past summer it brought back so many memories, so much so I am finally going back to my childhood home in Feb. I haven't been back since '83.

Yes that is probably true, but they love Cosell now that he is dead. I was a huge fan of Ali. Of course we went to the Thrilla in Manila and my dad was for Frasier, my brother for Ali, I had never seen boxing in my life, but there we were, I don't know, he was amazing to listen to and I always admired the way he stuck it to "the man" he always had his thumb in the eye of well everyone. His did his part for civil rights, went to jail rather than Vietnam, he didn't run either, he just did his time, I liked that he was always willing to sacrifice for what he believed in, even though he had a huge ego and was probably a dick!
