Ahh I think Hillary is a smart and great pick! I am on the edge of my seat to see how this turns out. Christopher Hitchens? Isn't he always sounds drunk? He certainly sounds as if he is drunk. He certainly does hate the Clintons. If Hillary does become Secretary of State, wow! What an interesting choice. I remember he speech in China. She will be a terrific advocate for women around the globe. I am sick of hearing all the people on TV saying she will undermine him, she will have policies of her own, blah blah blah.....
Hillary Clinton has proven herself to be a loyal member of the democratic party and she is a great advocate for democratic policies, as is her husband. She has proven to be nothing like the things people say about her. She works hard. She is smart. They will work well together, she will work well with the whole cabinet, which seems like it will be made up of excellent women and men. I am just impressed. Can't wait to see what this administration does.
Was a three cylinder engine car. This car got 55 miles to the gallon. What happened? My scooter gets 85 miles to the gallon. If Detroit had been innovative and possibly less greedy, they would not be in the trouble they are in currently. Imagine if that old technology had been taken to it's fullest, my car would have a smaller engine but get better gas mileage. Maybe we would have fully functional electric vehicles or natural gas vehicles. The politicians from Michigan fought CAFE standards tooth and nail, and not because Unions insisted on no CAFE standards. Bye Bye John Dingell, welcome Henry Waxman!
To be fair to the former President and Senator Clinton, I think some of us merely want to step away from the anger that generation has for each other. I don't blame them, Vietnam is a great scar on our nation and it scarred that generation horribly. The hatred that seeped throughout the 1990's seethed through both camps. Republicans were particularly vile, even towards Chelsea Clinton who was a young child. But it all came down to the origin of their generational disagreement, which was Vietnam. Republicans supported the war, Democrats did not. We all know what happened, rioting, Kent State, Woodstock, etc. The animosity created at that time reared it's ugly head when Bill Clinton was elected. Why? Because he opposed Vietnam. Those folks on the right decided that was unacceptable in a president. From that point they could not let it drop and did everything they could to personally destroy the President. I don't remember people trying to personally destroy Ronald Reagan. They deliberately tried to split the country in two, so everyone could be on opposing sides and we could all get in on the fighting. Anyone see the Frontline documentary about Lee Atwater? It certainly hurt us as a nation. We are merely moving on from that era. Hopefully, we will leave the animosity for each other behind. We do need to concentrate on our economic and other international problems, but we won't respond well if we aren't all working together. Hillary Clinton is going to be a great SoS if that is what she wants. It will help us all. If we can't get along with each other, how can we expect the world to get along.
Barack is doing just fine. I am looking forward to seeing his other picks.
I am sorry Cary, but the husband is very unreasonable, and not acting in the best interest of the child, in fact he seems to be acting strangely towards his wife. I see no reason she should put up with this at all. Her husband is undermining their relationship, and without a stable relationship with her husband, they cannot help the child. Children are hard to raise when parents have a great relationship with each other and a stable home. His behavior is actually solidifying the girls poor behavior. And you know what it is weird. While I read her story it felt creepy, like something is going on between the husband and his niece. It is time for an ultimatum, she should tell her worthless husband that they either work together and get the child real help, or it is time for a divorce.
I am glad they've gone belly up, and no doubt Fleischer will do just fine. Whatever!
Off Topic, was in San Francisco over the weekend, and boy was the weather beautiful!
Are you still hoping to sleep with Sarah Palin, because when I read this article it is clearly about Barack Obama, and clearly about what he can do to mobilize the nation to make the changes they seem to want to make. No where is Sarah Palin mentioned. But if Sarah Palin is the savior of the Republican Party, great! Democrats can expect more victories in the future. Because your libido aside, she is a train wreck and I presume Alaskans will be firing her on the next go round for Governor.
