Original article: "As Putin rears his head"

@Patrickvashon

Hey Patrick

You and I travel on the same Ferry don't we. You can see me, everyone who rides the Fauntleroy/Vashon/Southworth ferry knows me, I am the one on the Vespa with the bright pink helmet or on my white and pink Specialized bicycle. Let's have this rational discussion one day.

But for now, even Henry Kissinger thinks we ought to meet with our enemies with no conditions. Because what on earth are we afraid of? Should we only meet with our friends? That isn't much of a negotiation if we only are to meet with our friends and those who agree with us.

But the real difference between Sarah Palin and Barack Obama is Barack Obama can string a logical sentence together. Sarah Palin, she can't even do that. She isn't that smart, and now everyone can see it and the Republicans ought to be ashamed of themselves. Listen, all republicans aren't idiots. I was a big fan of Dan Evans, even voted for him. Of course I did get a Master's at Evergreen, if you are a native of Washington then you know why I love our ex-governor and ex-senator. He was fantastic, smart, oh yes he is also an engineer, not an ideologue. I still vote for Sam Reed, as he is a republican in the same vein as Gov. Evans. But Palin???? Oh come now give us all a break. How many more wacko Christians do you want involved in governing when the repeatedly do a lousy job. Governments don't run based on ideologies, they run because people compromise and negotiate. Palin knows nothing of either. She is another my way or the highway ideologue.

Look on the way home someday, lets have a calm discussion about this. There was a time when this girl here was a Republican, a real one, you remember what real republicans stood for right, civil rights, keep the government out of my bedroom and my body, they weren't religious wackos. Even Nixon would hate this stuff, he was a crook but not a bad leader. NEPA and the EPA were creations of Nixon! I can't believe Republicans have allowed their party to become what it has, the party of nut jobs. I'll even buy the beer Patrick.

Lying

Sarah Palin seems to have a problem with lying. What is up with that? She seems to lie about everything! What a great choice you made Johnny Walnuts.

Payroll for one, business cannot function without access to the credit market. I am not opposed to Wall Street folk suffering, certainly there needs to be payback for their irresponsibility, but business will suffer. You will suffer, you may have lost your home during the subprime problems but now you stand to lose your job, your business if you have one, your retirement if you have one, your children will have no access to students loans. The world wide Markets could collapse, meaning China could call in their loans to the US. Meaning our government could collapse as well. this is a big deal, bigger than most people realize, a depression is not a good thing and bringing one on purposely is incredibly short sighted and irresponsible. People who are elected to govern are supposed to govern. Sometimes that means losing your job even when you've done the right thing. These extreme ideologues have made it so food will be more expensive, there will be greater inflation, oil will sky rocket more, there are many consequences to these actions, we have yet to see the shit that is about to happen.

I wouldn't moralize about your financial situation, people do what they do for the reasons they do it. I actually think those folks responsible for this (subprime mess) should be arrested, they duped people. They were evil. Being an employee at a place that makes solar panels is great, I work for a college. But your place of business will not have access to the credit they need to function, just like your children will not have access to student loans etc, the things they will need to get along in this world. I do think those folks should suffer, but realistically they never will, they never do, they still have their 13 cars, their 7 houses, their help, their children in private schools etc. None of us have any of that, do we. This will screw us worse than it will them as usual.

Me Agreeing with Elphantman, the world has come to an end.

Abortion, all the Republicans can think of, you site scientific reasons for opposing abortion. Well let me tell you something bub, if you were a real republican, a real one, you would believe it was none of your business what a woman does with her body, and to say that the government can decide what a doctor says to his patient is also, well anti-republican. What would you say if we legislated men who had children out of wedlock or didn't support their already existing children and was having children with another woman or whatever, what if we legislated a vasectomy for said man. I mean he isn't responsible enough to support his already existing children, so why can't we just mandate vasectomy's. Oh and if there is a god, this issue is between that said god and the said offender of his so-called laws (all written by men I might add). As usual all wingers can think of is abortion. You cannot legislate your religious beliefs.

Oh and bringing up science, well Gov Palin believes the earth is 6000 years old, believes in creationism (mythology) and believes dinosaurs and man walked around on the earth together. She knows nothing about science.
