  • Physics 101 - 1981

[Read the article: Gender cues affect test results]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

This isn't specific to a math test, but my first college physics class at the MOntana School of Mines the physics professor announced in class, that if you were a women in his class there be no way we would pass that class. Appalling isn't it, Dr Lowery, I will never forget his name or his face. There were very few women in his class but we marched over to the deans office and complained about that, and they did absolutely NOTHING about it, nothing at all. Later on that year Dr. Lowery belittled some of the male students he was teaching and was let go at the end of the sememster. I am sorry to read, NOTHING HAS CHANGED SINCE THEN, and it pisses me off.

  • Ben Dover

[Read the article: Death threats dog female blogger]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Are you for real? Do you hate women that much? You sure seem to like to name call, which indicates a low intelligence and perhaps a very low level of education. I always tell my students to watch out for those folks how make outrageous claims on-line because most folks who tell stories about their so called lives are in fact fibbing most of the time, they fib about their looks, their level of education, the money they make, because who would ever know... Me thinks you too are a liar Mr. two MBA Dover....married or not with a girlfriend or not., with two identical degrees or not, who is a social liberal fiscal conservative or not or who really is one lonely guy whose own hatred of himself has infected his view of women. Because hatred is always about internal questions about an individuals own failures and projects those on-to others. My suggestion for you is to see a therapist, you are in real of need of help.

  • Hillary doesn't get my vote either

[Read the article: Why I'm still not for Hillary Clinton]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Although my reasons are slightly different Hill doesn't get my vote either. I've been a registered Democrat for more than 20 years, and this year if she wins this nomination for the first time in my life in a presidential election I will vote green party or if Bloomberg runs I will vote for him.

Let me explain, Senator Clinton voted for this war, she never apologized and now she and Bill are spinning, they didn't support this war from the beginning. Well as a mother with two sons, aged 21 and 17, I will never get over it, I will never get over the fact that in the face of facts, Iraq didn't attack this nation she voted the that numbskull in the oval office, and it was obvious he was after something else. As a lawyer she didn't even read documents by the Dept of Energy which stated those aluminum tubes were not suitable for nuclear anything, are you kidding me the most important vote of her career and she got it WRONG. I won't vote for anyone who voted for this war. Reading the documents before voting is the most important thing a senator or president can did, and she did not do that, so no vote from me. I could care less that she is a woman like me, that he husband is a putz as a husband, blah blah blah, votes count and she was wrong, so wrong and then she went voted with Bush again with the Iranian Rev Guard crap, so we can begin yet another war. Well, go ahead entrenched dems, nominate her, and you loose me and I will work against her, because she has absolutely no understanding of international diplomacy or geo-politics, no matter what she says she has via her husbands presidency.

  • Disgusted

[Read the article: The Clinton-Obama contest gets rougher]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

I am disgusted by the Clintons and their surrogates, who ever they may be. If Edwards or Obama are not the nominees, then I am voting green or for Bloomberg etc, but there isn't any way I will vote Clinton, not ever again.

  • Superdelegates

[Read the article: What's the Obama campaign's position on superdelegates?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

I am not worried about the campaigns position on superdelegates, but I am worried that superdelegates essentially have more than one vote, they can vote in their own primaries or caucus sites and they get another vote which can over ride what 9800 votes and that to me is incredibly anti-democratic! I want all the elected officials to realize we are watching them and watching them closely. Our children participated in this primary/caucus election and if the majority of people are over ridden by party insiders well the democratic party will be broken, at war with itself and will loose many young people who will not vote anymore, so the question is really for the superdelegates and not the campaigns, is this what they want?

  • The Memo

[Read the article: New Clinton spin: March 4 states must-wins for Obama]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Doesn't that mean the Obama organization is better organized, excelled at managing their money and organizing local people. Isn't this memo pointing out the failures of their own organization?

  • Working and being a mom

[Read the article: Work sucks? Blame her!]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

I didn't ask for a raise, but I asked to have my hours changed to 32 hours a week, I asked for all the days off I need to attend track meets and basketball games, I asked to work from home 2 days a week, and I asked to be paid full time and the answer was yes! And I am happy! I am so damn happy. I love working but I love my kids and being at home and doing things with them and for them! I even love my husband and he helps at home too! I am lucky and happy. Just ask for what you want and you just might get it.
